George Merrett 602nd Air Commandos, The Rescue of Streetcar 304 (Military Interview)

I have your book but sorry to say I haven't started it yet. About 12 years ago I began corresponding with Kenny Fields, Streetcar 304. He put me in touch with Ed Leonard, Sandy 7 on Kenny's SAR. I met Ed and his wife Suzanne when my wife and I moved to Long Beach, WA. The day I met Ed I gave him a 23rd TASS coin and he gave me 4th Allied POW Wing coin. One of my most treasured mementoes. We remained friends until his passing in 2014. The last time we had dinner together he decided to tell me about his shoot down and treatment while he was a POW. Ed is definitely one of my heroes. I was an O-2 Mechanic with the 23rd TASS at NKP in 1969. Thank you for your story.

The song at the end is Spads With A Load, it was written in 1970 by several members of O.L.A.A Here is the link to the song. it is in a play list of a bout 30 songs that wee have saved.
