George's voice is up there with Freddie Mercury and no one really gave him credit for that in any big way until he passed. But he sang alongside Freddie and some vocal experts were like 'wait... what?! i had no idea his voice was this epic'. And it was. But those of us who have loved him since childhood, we didn't just love him for his incredible voice, we loved him for things like 'Freedom' and 'FREEEK'. He put it OUT there when no one else was willing to be raw and dirty like that and GAWD LOVE HIM FOR IT!!

I am a distant relative of his. I started listening to his music when I was I think 12 years old. I had no idea that this wonderful man was my distant relative. I light a candle every year for his birthday and when he passed away. I have almost all of his albums except Symphonica which as I am able I will be buying. I was very upset when I heard that he had passed away. I hope that he is Resting In Peace. I loved his music and still do. But sometimes it is hard for me to listen to sometimes because of knowing that he isn't here anymore. He was a great singer, musician, and human being that tried to help others without acknowledgment of what good works he did. My boyfriend and I think that he should have been knighted.

If you want to see an evolution of a person and his evolution as a song writer, listen to George's music catalog chronologically. Timeless music transcends time and Yog's music is a testament to that. Every single song means something different at every age and stage of your life. When he went away from his persona on the "Faith" album to the behind the scenes, socially conscious songwriting of "Praying for Time," I was about 13. I was upset he left his poppy music for more mature matters, but as I grew into an adult, those songs have become my favorite ones. "Praying for Time" is relevant at any point in history, but no more so than right now. I'm a black man that appreciated George Michael from the very first time I saw him. His effervescent personality and beautiful voice made him stand out next to anyone. I was 7 when I saw "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" debut on MTV. I loved listening to this guy sing, but even at 7, I knew something was different about him. There was a point in the video where he hugged himself and I realized he was different from other men I admired. 25 years later, a biography revealed that although he didn't know if he was gay, you could pretty much tell something at that very moment in the video. I loved women coming out the womb, but George's sexuality never stopped me from loving him or his music. I was so thankful he did a 25Live tour in 07, because I was too young to see him during his first solo US tour, but I got to go to one of his shows in Atlanta. He sings as beautifully live as on a studio album, and that type of talent is lost on this generation. He was an incredibly talented, but troubled soul. Thanks for bringing this song to the attention of people that wouldn't have otherwise listened to it. Funny thing is, G. Michael didn't even like this song.

George lived just up the road from me in Highgate, North London, although he passed away at his country home... the day after hearing that tragically sad news, that completely ruined our Christmas Day here in the UK and Europe, as it broke on the evening news.. the next day we walked up Highgate Hill to his house..it was like the day Diana died, all over again, thousands of flowers, hundreds of people, crying, holding their loved ones... one of the saddest days of my life..we went back several times over the next couple of weeks, each time, hundreds more people, thousands more flowers... people elsewhere in the world may not know this, but George spent a good deal of the day (in the last few years, at least) watching daytime telly (!!) ... the reason we in the UK knew this, was that he would often phone in to a live show.. Loose Women was a favourite of his.. the women on the panel would be discussing something or other, anything, children's reading, dog rescue, the nation's favourite biscuits, absolutely anything, and the presenter would suddenly say, 'Oh, hold on a minute, we've got George Michael on the line', and he'd come on and give his opinion (always immensely sensible)... one occasion a hamper arrived on set for them, thanking them, they got him on the line immediately and he was as charming as ever. But what I really wanted to tell you about was his kindness and generosity to complete strangers..in the days after his death it was revealed that a few years earlier he'd made a completely anonymous donation to a couple he'd seen on a TV show talking about how they'd had the maximum number of IVF treatments that are available on the NHS (two, I believe) and how they couldn't afford any more, themselves...it may have been an article on whether the NHS should pay for more than two, anyway, the producers got a call that an anonymous donor wanted to pay..only a couple of people at the programme knew.. the couple were not to be told..nine months later, a beautiful baby girl arrived.. and only after his death were they made aware of the beautiful human being who had made their gorgeous little daughter possible... that's REAL class!! RIP beautiful man.. 😢😢💔

He wrote it at the age of 17, but he only recorded it after his first success "Club Tropicana, "The Wham Rap", because he thought it was not good enough. He was an amazing talent, with an amazing voice. One of the best! He wrote almost all of his songs by himself. And in his later years as a solo artist he played almost all instruments. He was an autodidact, a self taught artist in every way! But he was also a very sensitive soul And the music industry is everything but sensitive. After the death of his partner it took a long time to recover. He wrote some great songs like "Jesus To A Child" and other hearttouching songs. Then his beloved mother died, and i guess this was the beginning of the end. He took medication drugs and street drugs to numb the pain. The man who wrote and sang "Last Christmas" died on Christmas day 2016. His sister who was his closest friend, died in the same house, in the same room, on the same day, Christmas 2019! RIP George RIP Melanie

George Michael, was one of the BEST! GREATLY MISSED!!! He does a duet with Elton John (Elton John's song) Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me & NAILS IT!!! This is the BEST version of it, when he was older, "George Michael, Elton John - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (Live) " I could go on & on, but the list would be to long. THE MAN CAN SING!

He often wrote on buses planes cars etc. He said that he composed arranged everything in his head and sometimes kept it there for months and years before he put it down in the studio. I love this man. Please react to Kissing a Fool. Very classy jazzy number. Shows another side of George and what was to come later.

Javon, one of my favorite things about your reactions is that you don't judge music, artists, or videos before you watch - so many "reaction" channels get caught up and distracted by the 80's clothes, crazy hairstyles, etc., from these older artists... completely missing the beautiful, timeless music. Thanks for focusing on the important part!

Your generation really needs to discover George Michael. Frank Sinatra said he was one of the greatest vocalists of the 20th century. To me he was that and more. This man could sing anything, any genre, absolutely anything. He had such control over his voice. His list of Duets are a list of the greatest singers ever. Check out his rendition when he remade his own song, One More Try, at the concert of Hope in 1993 at Wembley. It will blow your mind. He had the best backup singers and band in the business most of whom stayed with him until his death. This was the second song I heard of his. The first being with Wham; Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. I am George's exact age and I remember thinking how young is the guy?? I like every other girl fell in love with him and had no clue he waa gay nor did we care when we found out. Just like you didn't know this song, I'll bet you know a lot of his other songs and don't realize it like last Christmas and that he was the third voice in the famous Band-aid song. A Sublime artist who did it all musically... no one comes close to his overall talent. Not even Prince as I could never see him singing with Pavarotti Garth Brooks Tony Bennett Whitney Houston Paul McCartney maybe Aretha Franklin....so many there were.
