Here is a clip of George rehearsing for some later Faith Tour concerts. Judging off of the songs being rehearsed, these rehearsals are probably in 1989 right before the 3 concerts in Spain. These clips are taken from "The Southbank Show" special.

For me, George was one of the most important and brilliant artists of the 20th century. He managed almost effortlessly to touch people with his voice and his lyrics so that tears ran down them. So deep, so intense, so brilliant. I will forever miss this brilliant artist. His interpretation of "The Grave" made me understand for the first time what a mother must feel when her child goes to war. And so there is a close connection to almost every one of his songs. Thank you for this gift George.

Whenever I watch George in rehearsals I'm just ah-struck. George is just amazing! His voice is always so on point, and his musicality is phenomenal & working with his band, he works with them, not above them. Know wonder his musical family stayed with him for so long, & for so many years! Even being that music was his baby, putting everything he had into his music, he never was condescending or unkind, yet I've also seen fun & joking about. What a group of wonderful people! I guess that when you are around a truly talented & wonderful man, who wouldn't want to work & just be around him? George touched so many wonderful people, It's truly a shame that anyone would want to crush him down. (media/suits) George has & will always be my reminder that angels really walk this earth, When watching & listening to George It's clear, he still is heard in everyone's heart & will continue, TILL THE END OF TIME! ⏳ 🕯😇🎶💝🌠

Pastime Paradise wasn’t played on Cover to Cover. It was, however, played at the 1989 Faith Tour Spanish concerts which is where these rehearsals are from. This is from a special that was broadcast more than 5 months before the tour started.

It’s Pastime Paradise by Stevie Wonder. He covered a lot of SW songs as he was a big fan. This is rehearsals for his Cover to Cover Tour of 1990/91.

Pastime Paradise! It sounds pitched down like it bonus material that was included in the reissue of listen without prejudice. A non pitched version can be found in the south Bank show from the 1990 documentary.

You would be right about seeing it in 1990 as it was part of the South Bank Show. However, judging off his hairstyle and the fact that he’s rehearsing Pastime Paradise, I believe these are the rehearsals for the three 1989 Spain shows.

It was. As explained in other comments, it is that for a few reasons. It was broadcast 6 months before the start of C2C which would be very early for this to be a rehearsal. George is also seen rehearsing Pastime Paradise which was a song only done on the 3 1989 Spain shows. George’s hairstyle here also closely matches those shows. And to cap it all off the stage layout seen in this video matches the Faith tour one and not the C2C one. :)

@TheEnzyme94 My point still stands? This was shown on the SouthBank Special in September 1990. The C2C started in January 1991. Just because the footage is old doesn’t mean it couldn’t have been shown in the documentary. Artists don’t typically start rehearsing for a tour that’s 5 months away
