@@halfvader8015 I dunno, maybe I'm translating it wrongly, but the supermodels worked with the message for me. Most of the people lip syncing to George's very male voice were female, two of which had a scene together with sexual tones. At the least, it has a message of wearing whatever you want, whether people judge you for being skimpy/prudish/unstylish (and in a more specific case, a crossdresser, but that's only implied). If we're bringing body types into the equation, though, the supermodels were a bad idea.

my understanding is that this song is an artistic homage to his legal break from his 'wham' counterpart/possible contractual boss(?). apparently, the severance was not pretty, and i'm not sure what predicated it, but words were had and hair was torn. "i don't belong to you, and you don't belong to me" "freedom! freedom! freedom!..." i mean, look at the lyrics: he was an indentured servant of sorts. who knows where he was culled from: poland? lots of musicians hail from poland. call me crazy....

TheZeppelin1V is right. If any of that ridiculous bronze-age nonsense IS true, then most of the recently deceased musicians will certainly NOT be in heaven. Jesus (meek and mild) was very clear in his 'Sermon on the Mount' speech - anyone attempting to remove "one word" of the Mosaic Laws would categorically end up in the _"unquenchable lake of fire."_ Just look up the Mosaic laws and see what they have to say about homosexuality. Incidentally, they're the same jolly laws which give the okay to the 'Chosen People' to commit genocide and slavery against anyone in the way of their 'promised land'. They also include specific instructions on how to sell your own daughter into sex slavery.

I worked as a runner at the post production company that edited this video. One quiet Saturday I was walking through the reception and there was an attractive woman in a long camel coat sitting on the large sofa reading a newspaper. I caught her eye and she smiled. As I was walking away I suddenly realised it was Linda Evangelista. I went back and offered a tea or coffee and we got chatting. She had come in to see the edit of this video and collect a copy (tape those days). She told me about the shoot and asked about my job and my college course (I was on summer work experience). A really lovely and genuine person.

The Brilliance of this album never diminishes. It only becomes more and more evident what a massive massive Untouchable Talent George Michael was. For a man to write compose produce his own music and fight Sony, fight grief, fight the demons around him and still stay humble loving and generous is beyond amazing. What can be said for such a human being. I pray that he is in sweet sweet eternal peace.

The appreciation of the perfection of this music video reaches a whole other level when you hear Naomi & Cindy discussing the filming of this (Naomi’s tubecast, No Filter). To find out that Cindy was propped up in the bath on an apple box palette, with no water in the bath & glycerin on her skin + a smoke machine for effect & Naomi had not slept at all, due to having to travel directly to the UK set from walking in a fashion show in Europe & had no idea how she was going to perform on camera with no sleep, only further increases the respect & admiration for how effortless they made this look. Absolute professionals, every single person involved.

I won't let you down I will not give you up Gotta have some faith in the sound It's the one good thing that I've got I won't let you down So please don't give me up Because I would really, really love to stick around Oh, yeah Heaven knows I was just a young boy Didn't know what I wanted to be (Didn't know what I wanted to be) I was every little hungry schoolgirl's pride and joy And I guess it was enough for me (And I guess it was enough for me) To win the race, a prettier face Brand new clothes and a big fat place On your rock and roll TV (Rock and roll TV) But today the way I play the game is not the same, no way Think I'm gonna get me some happy I think there's something you should know (I think it's time I told you so) There's something deep inside of me (There's someone else I've got to be) Take back your picture in a frame (Take back your singing in the rain) I just hope you understand Sometimes the clothes do not make the man All we have to do now Is take these lies and make them true somehow All we have to see Is that I don't belong to you and you don't belong to me, yeah yeah Freedom (I won't let you down) Freedom (I will not give you up) Freedom (Gotta have some faith in the sound) You've got to give what you take (It's the one good thing that I've got) Freedom (I won't let you down) Freedom (So please don't give me up) Freedom ('Cause I would really) You've got to give what you take (really love to stick around) Heaven knows we sure had some fun, boy What a kick just a buddy and me (What a kick just a buddy and me) We had every big-shot goodtime band on the run, boy We were living in a fantasy (We were living in a fantasy) We won the race, got out of the place Went back home, got a brand new face for the boys on MTV (Boys on MTV) But today the way I play the game has got to change, oh yeah Now I'm gonna get myself happy I think there's something you should know (I think it's time I stopped the show) There's something deep inside of me (There's someone I forgot to be) Take back your picture in a frame (Don't think that I'll I be back again) I just hope you understand Sometimes the clothes do not make the man All we have to do now Is take these lies and make them true somehow All we have to see Is that I don't belong to you and you don't belong to me, yeah yeah Freedom (I won't let you down) Freedom (I will not give you up) Freedom (Gotta have some faith in the sound) You got to give what you take (It's the one good thing that I've got) Freedom (I won't let you down) Freedom (So please don't give me up) Freedom ('Cause I would really) You got to give what you take (really love to stick around) Well, it looks like the road to heaven But it feels like the road to hell When I knew which side my bread was buttered I took the knife as well Posing for another picture Everybody's got to sell But when you shake your ass They notice fast And some mistakes were build to last That's what you get (That's what you get) I say that's what you get (I say that's what you get for changing your mind) That's what you get for changing your mind (That's what you get) (That's what you get) And after all this time I just hope you understand Sometimes the clothes do not make the man All we have to do now Is take these lies and make them true somehow All we have to see Is that I don't belong to you And you don't belong to me, yeah yeah Freedom (Oh) Freedom (My) Freedom You've gotta give for what you take Freedom (I'll hold on to my) Freedom (My) Freedom You got to give what, to give what, give what you take Yeah! You got to give what, give to what, to give May not be what you want from me Just the way it's got to be Lose the face now I've got to live

A masterpiece. The best pop song of the entire decade of the 1990's.
