Song comes in and leaves, like a ship in the night! A girl once fogged up a bus window and used a finger to write her number for me. That was the kind of creative ways people communicated back in the 70s/80s!

You need to watch the live version of George singing 'A different corner' on the Parkinson show from 1998...AMAZING 💜 the Last Christmas tune didn't go with the lyrics, a bouncy Christmas tune with lyrics of lost love and heartbreak 😂 but still yet another amazing song from George 💜 George, If I could I would I swear 💜 If you want something a bit different from George then give Freeek a listen. I love it 💜

You guys rock! I love the song for its simplicity while still being complex enough with the lyrics. It's a beautiful tragedy. George was very good at taking his words and putting them to tracks that were so unexpected. The vocals are just George. Nothing needs to be said there. This song and the next 2 songs on list soothe me when I'm agitated. I hope all of you enjoy. I wanted to showcase why he is the record holder of the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter Of The Year with 3. Also to showcase the vocals.

Well said Rowan. I especially love the live version he did on the BBC Parkinson show in 1998. It was a live version with a wonderful arrangement. You have probably already seen and heard it though! The interview with Michael Parkinson really should not be missed. It’s still on BBC iplayer.

My favourite George Michael song is One More Try. Hoping to hear a review of this song. Back in the days of landlines, there were absolutely rules in play. Merely rules of consideration. Nobody ever called your home after 11 PM unless it was an emergency. Nobody ever called during the dinner hour.

The best look GM had. George Michael, Paul Young and Simon LeBon all had the best hair of the 80’s. This song gives me chills. Great lyrics and music and sung by the most beautiful voice.

You talked about 'grabbing the moment', I saw a man at the bus-stop, later that day I saw him in the local store, then later that night I saw him in the club, so I didn't miss Chance #3 and grabbed him. 30 years later he's still here... (voluntarily, I feel I must add, no handcuffs were involved) Great song from the legend George, ta x

Pay attention to George Michael’s lyrics - they’re deceptively simple. But his rhyming couplets are clever, the result of his excellent English literacy where he would mess around with a sentence until it not only rhymed, but still made sense. Most artists will punch in an awkward rhyme even when it’s on the nose or barely even rhymes.

Now, regarding landline phones, here in the UK, they introduced an alert sound if you left the phone off the hook. Truly irritating noise! Ours didn't have a silent option so you would have had to unplug it from the wall to stop it ringing, but in a house of 5 - that ain't gonna happen. Best you could hope for if the cause of your broken heart telephoned was to ask a family member to say you weren't in, or take the call and immediately hang-up. I really hope you get round to George's live cover of the Celine Dion classic CALLING YOU. On YTube as GEORGE MICHAEL CALLING YOU #listen25

Oh yes - this really brought back memories ! The same in our house. My sister and I used to pretend the other wasn’t in if we didn’t want to talk to someone.

@@ChloeR-vt4bh Lol, glad it wasn't just me. Worst time was when I asked my Grandma to say I was out to a guy I wanted to break-up with. She was truly unconvincing and came back with the message, "He says he's not stupid and will stop calling you". Oh the folly of youth!
