I attended one of his clinics years ago. I paid attention every moment. Talking on a cell phone in a clinic is rude and so typical of the me, me, me attitude we see far too often these days with no regard for the needs of others. So disrespectful to the teacher and to the other students and auditors.

People these days don’t understand respect at all.

You go to a GM clinic prepared, riders and auditors alike. This was my first time going (I'm in the hat) and I was prepared to audit. No eating, no talking... heck, I even drank water without breaking eye contact of him riding the horse. The call should have been made by the barns or the bathrooms or farther away than right by the ring. 🤷♀️

I think he was right in kicking her out. When you are at a clinic with a Master, you remain silent and watch. It is very distracting to other people at the clinic if you are talking. Whispering a little, yes, but no conversations. I was at a clinic and people just came to see the "star" and they talked and had a party while auditing, it was so disrespectful. And I was very upset that I missed some of what was being said because they were making so much noise.

I grew up in a world where you stayed silent and listened. Speak when spoken to and only answer questions. You only ask questions when you don't understand. If you are auditing, you listen. if you are not riding, then you dont participate. you dont like what you see, leave. So whatever this women did or said, id say she deserved it.

That is a correct world and it is especially correct for the horseworld. I have dealt with USA horsepeople who spoke MORE IN ONE HOUR lesson than I spoke in all my own lessons over 40 YEARS. MORE words in ONE HOUR than I spoke in lessons over 40 years. THAT is what's happening and those of us with like mind in riding need to be in touch with each other.

Silently* recorded on a cell, not causing disruption or distraction for other attendees/auditors.

I believe her daughter was riding in it!

As long as she wasn't making noise, I don't see the problem. It's her money she wasted by not paying attention. If she was distracting others that's a problem but if she was only distracting herself, it's her loss. I believe a warning would have been appropriate before throwing her out unless there was a statement before the clinic started regarding no phones allowed

It's disrespectful to him and it's disrespectful to the people who paid to ride and audit the clinic.

People need respect. Only acceptable if it's an emergency, which she would be leaving anyways. Otherwise it wasn't an emergency.

100%.@@jennymutter6366 That's why he first of all asked the rude person what the topic of the call was about. If it had been a legit emergency, I'm sure Mr. Morris would have had a different response and instead of rebuking her, likely would've been concerned and likely would've offered any assitance possible.

It's something called manners. Appears many people have no knowledge of proper behavior. If calls are so important, leave the area. Most people are to polite to say anything. I'm sick of hearing people's personal calls.
