Except guess what dumb dumb, most corners give up around 2-4 touchdowns a season. We are 4 weeks in, most top corners haven’t given up a touchdown yet. Gardner is damn good for a rookie but context matters. He’s been targeted 20 times through 4 games. Most corners don’t give up a touchdown on their first 20 targets.

If he didn't get beat by sauce he could have at least got a touchdown and you may argue that he almost did, but "almost" doesn't cut it, he wasn't able to produce against sauce so we can assume he got locked up but if he didn't, it sure wasn't the opposite.

Not to mention when George blocked him he helped with a 10 yard rush so I don’t see where sauce did anything impressive against George now if you’d say pat yeah that was an impressive play I’ll give him that but he didn’t have one on George

@@mrpiccaso6517 Sauce is not known for defeating run blocks or pursuit to the ball carrier he is a coverage guy so I don’t expect him to get through Pickens. But when sauce used his helmet to get in the way of Pickett you can’t say that is pass interference it was a good play he was able to blanket Pickett on that play and stop him from catching the ball he had put his hands up and it so happened that the ball had hit his helmet to stop the catch, the ball had good placement and it would have been a catch if sauce didn’t blanket Pickett, if it ended up being a catch, you wouldn’t call it a pass interference so why would you call it a pass interference when Pickett got smothered. Sauce made a good play on the ball and stopped Pickett from getting the ball by making the right type of contact at the right time.

as a hardcore Jets fan and a Darrelle Revis stan, I'll confidently say that rookie Sauce is better in coverage so far than rookie Revis was. Sauce is already elite in coverage. he's not that great of a tackler and shies away from contact whereas Revis was equally an elite tackler. I'll live with that tho if Sauce plays like this!
