With your good self at Williams (Mercedes) and Lando at McLaren, the British F1 scene is in a fabulous position for the future - well done George. The great part of this video is the fact that you will probably never forget your time at Williams, or Sir Frank himself, the very best for the future years, and I hope I'm around long enough to see you at the pinnacle of the sport. I can almost hear Murray Walker waxing lyrical over your future Victories.

For me, Hungary was it. We kept hearing these rumors that Frank was ill and not doing very well. It was one sickness after another. You never truly expect someone to pass away, but in the back of my mind I was like "please keep fighting Frank". To see his team battle fiercely at Austria, get both cars into the points in Hungary, and then qualify and finish P2, I think he is now able to rest easy knowing that his team, his baby, the entity of which he invested his entire life into, is in good hands. Then to see George crying. I know some toxic dudes were making fun of it, but to me, it showed just how much George cares about that team. It's more to him than his "F1 break-out" team. It's his family, and ultimately, that's what Williams always has, and hopefully always will be. Family. If Jost is right about George coming back later and winning Williams their first WCC/WDC, it would be the greatest moment in F1's modern era. He'll always have Williams in his heart, and that's why he adamantly fought to get Alex in that seat. Nicky, Alex, and a renewed team, good things are coming. Until then, go get them George.

@@rjai4890 Deserved Championship winner, undeserved race winner. But Lewis fans need to calm down since he has won many races with luck in his bag and they were just, 🤷 and just go into a crying rage fit when you try to bring up Silverstone and Hungary. AND Merc still trying fight the FiA, is beyond me. Remember when Toto made comments on Redbull for running to stewards to complain against Merc, where did it all go. To summarize, I'd use words of Alex Albon, "He's such a sore loser." :)

My son would be watching F1 on Sunday mornings and I'd ask him to do something and he would say can he do it after the race. One day, he watched at the dining table and said it was going to be a special race since this George Russell was taking the place of someone in Mercedes. I sat next to him and never stood up during that race, I was hooked on my first F1 race! I have been a George Russell fan and Williams fan ever since! Now that my son is back in college after being home for 15 months during the pandemic, I call him to wake him up during quali and race days. Sakhir was a heartbreaker and I knew it would make George stronger. Spa qualifying and podium and the team celebrating are my favorite moments. I will follow you in Mercedes and I will always be a Williams fan!

I've been watching George since his first race on the BTCC card. So young and yet so talented even then! He had some really good competition around him too. Had it not been for F1 going the paid route on Sky, I'd have loved to have followed him and his compatriots in F3 & 2. It's only the highlights of F1 I get to see on Channel 4, and a couple of minutes on KZbin, so *many* thanks to George & Williams for taking the highlights programme seriously and giving great interviews and general chats. It's been a fascinating insight into your move back up the grid. And yes, I cried in Hungary (what is it with that track and "firsts", especially for British racers? I still choke up thinking about Damon there...), and despite the farce (if I'm honest), at Spa. But that was on the Saturday after qually because that was one _hell_ of a drive! George deserved that trophy for qualification! Good luck to you both: George at Mercedes (I am absolutely going to blub when you win your first race, and probably the second, third... You are going to get the chance to learn from arguably the GOAT, at least definitely the GOAT of this century, so enjoy that opportunity, especially in your first year. Your second year could well find you sharing _your_ tips with him 😉), and to Williams as you return to the part of the grid you belong to. I know it's been a tough couple of weeks emotionally, and a long year physically and mentally, so remember that it's *good* to cry. Use the end of today's race as your excuse to blubber! Then have a great holiday period and a spot-on build-up to the new season. I can't wait to see what you've come up with for the new car! I'll be following you both with equal amounts of interest. And good luck to Nicholas and Alex, of course!
