When I was in 11th grade, a 12th grade girl from my school was tragically killed in a car accident. He heard about the accident and knew that he was her favorite artist. He sent flowers to her funeral. It was so special. He is from our parts here in Texas and he doesn’t forget his roots. He is a treasure.

I would say you did see God that day when you first laid eye's on your newborn. Certainly you remember the feeling of love that swelled within you at that moment. Whom but God could produce that level of love?

George strait is one of the country greats How can people say there is no God, all you have to do is look at a child's smile and there He is.
As someone who has had trouble conceiving for many years..let me just say, all children are a miracle and a blessing from God. I wish they were cherished more than they often are in this world. 💙

Saw George in concert in 1988 a couple years aftr his daughter was tragically killed in a car accident. When he sang "Baby Blue" he got very emotional. He is my all time favorite country artist. In concert, he just gets up there and sings, no flashing lights, no fireworks, just him, his guitar and the Ace in The Hole Band.

George Strait has always been my favorite singer. He is one of two people I would ever attempt to see in concert, I can’t handle crowds with my ptsd. I will now never get to see him since he no longer tours. Thank you for doing this song.

So this is probably my favorite George Strait song. Jennifer Lyn was 13, was out with 3 friends and the driver lost control of the car and it crashed, she was killed instantly. It was not very far from her house and George was on the scene very quickly. It was a very dark time for the Strait family. This is a beautiful song that he ended up writing for her many years later.

❤❤❤❤❤❤ Your comments afterward were so sweet! It's interesting that you thought you didn't get an answer, when you asked God for help with your first child---but, who do you think gotcha through it? God doesn't always slap us upside the head and say "Yo, I'm talkin' to you"; but, you can believe that when you asked Him for help, He had a hand in your boy being raised!! ❤

I've read some of the comments here, and more are understandably about the birth of one's children, etc. However, I love this song for a different reason...loss of loved ones. I'm not a religious person, but I'm spiritual, and I do believe in a higher power (whatever that power would be). Still, I have indeed seen God..... This song has helped me when I had trouble with my mom's passing in September 2012. I was stationed in Germany at the time, and although I knew that she wasn't well, I didn't know how ill she was (I wasn't informed by my dad). I received the news by email that she had passed (to be fair to my dad, he's relatively deaf), and it was a shock as I was due to go home to see her in a month. Listening to that song has helped me when I had trouble coping with her loss, even to this day. In another light, a year later in September 2013 (still stationed in Germany), I was once again grieving my mom's loss, and (long story short) I ran into a lady that had a Great Dane (my favorite dog) in her car. I went to talk to her, and she mentioned that she had puppies. My eyes lit up, and the excitement flowed through my veins. I actually felt my mom's presence, and I felt that she meant for this to happen (we had a Great Dane when I was a kid, and this made sense that this was the connection). My Osborne (what I named him) brought me joy and laughter for almost nine years, but I once again felt the pain of loss when he passed from cancer on 20 June 2022 (6 weeks ago today, as I write this). I saw God throughout my life, and after the loss of my mom and Osborne, I heard my mom's voice clear as day in my ear when I was missing her (she said "Don't worry about me, I'm okay..."), and I've seen her on a few occasions as well. I also saw God during Osborne's time with me, knowing and feeling how unconditional his love was, and how I owed it to him to fight his cancer with all that I had (finances be damned....and having insurance for his health care helped). During his final night, we sat outside on the back patio, with me talking to him, thanking him for his time and love, asking him to visit on occasion, and asking that he wait for me to join him (but hopefully not any time soon as I feel that I still have a lot more "God to see"). The sunset that was in the north Texas sky was magnificent, and seemed more vibrant than ever. The birds were singing, we saw our resident bunny in the yard, and even the lizards in the bricked-off grill area seemed to come out to greet Osborne for the last time. Since his passing, and like my mom, I've seen and heard Osborne several times, with the first time being the day after he passed (he was clearly curled up on the couch as he normally was, and he raised his head to look at me before slowly fading away). The most recent time that I saw him was in my home office today, while I was working (this time, the presented himself under my desk as a puppy). Bottom line here is that we all see God every day, in one way or another, and in good and bad. All we have to do is open our eyes, ears and feelings to the possibility of it happening. Thank you for listening to the song, and for the comments. I could tell that it got to you at times as well. I've been a fan of George's since before he broke out. Sat at his feet at the edge of the stage in Huntsville, Texas, when Ace in the Hole was playing in late 1970's. They played good dancing music. My favorites are the early ones. Blame it on Mexico, Marina del Ray, Amarillo by Morning.
