The Texas country music scene right now is HOPPIN. If you want to check out some under appreciated gems from that scene, I highly rec...honestly, so much. But a great song to start that's very earwormy is Welcome To Hard Times by Charley Crockett! Voices by Joshua Ray Walker made me just. Freeze and listen. Like I don't even recall breathing. There's this one part toward the like, last third of the song, that I was Not Prepared For And anything by Flatland Cavalry is amazing, Cleto Cordero's songwriting is second to none. If you want to start with the cutest, sweetest song I've ever heard, listen to Honeywine! My favorite song of their is On The Other Side of Lonesome, it cheers me up when I'm having bad depression days. And if you wanna hear Cleto sing with his then-girlfriend-now-wife, Kaitlin, listen to A Life Where We Work Out!

Girl gave me a note once. Put it in my pocket, Got to the hallway i checked what the note said. It was just homework that i had folded up. Fast forward 3 weeks, my mom washed my clothes and finds note from the girl that handed it to me, asking me out. Needless to say for those 3 weeks i could not figure out why she was so mad. We moved also that summer and that was something ill never forget. Also school ended before i found the note. It was in Pulaski County kentucky. Around 2005.

Oh! And I also want to point you to two other AMAZING current country singers that aren't getting their due recognition...YET. Yet, I believe in them. Check out Yola! My favorite songs of hers are Faraway Look, Ride Out In The Country, Walk Through Fire, and Shady Grove. Shady Grove just feels like a lullaby to me, like, I just wanna sing my friend's kid to sleep with it next time I babysit, the melody is just so nice Gabe Lee is a Nashville native, born and raised, and honestly my friend, jump on the Gabe Lee Is Awesome train now so when he's a big star in three years you can be all "I thought he was cool before it was cool" every song on both of his albums are absolute bangers! Best songs to start with I'd say are 30 Seconds At A Time, Honky Tonk Hell, Last Country Song, Alright Ok, and Susannah
