George Talks Business with Sharifa A. Anderson, SVP & Chief DEI Officer at Fannie Mae

This George Talks Business event welcomed Sharifa A. Anderson, senior vice president and the first chief diversity and inclusion officer of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae). Now one of the largest entities in the United States, Fannie Mae was created by Congress to provide stability and liquidity for the nation’s mortgage market. In this conversation, attendees learned more about advances in economic and racial equity, the broadening of housing access, and the creation of more inclusive structures for homeownership and housing finance.
Attendees also gained insight into how Fannie Mae promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion as values internally, and externally through DEI-driven external engagement and other initiatives. The conversation was moderated by Vanessa G. Perry, M.B.A., Ph.D., interim dean and professor of marketing and of strategic management and public policy at the George Washington University School of Business.
