What a wonderfully touching tribute to your late father, Paolo: he will have been delighted by all you have achieved professionally and musically in your life. You are a son to make any father proud. This is a sublime performance of what originated as an improvised 'filler' by GTB for a radio broadcast that overran. The music proved so popular that George was persuaded to notate this score, which has subsequently become a great favourite of many organists. It is so very English! I love the graciously measured tempo you take, which really allows the full beauty of the music to envelop the listener in its majesty and solemnity. And what more can I say about your magnificent voicing of this 'green' Viscount Physis organ? Well, the Skinner-inspired sound you have created here is just gorgeous! The strings, the choruses, the tutti, the solo reed - all absolutely magnificent. It is really hard to believe that not a single pipe had air blown through it to make this recording . . . but what you have lovingly engineered both digitally and acoustically is certainly testament to your status as King of the Digital Pipe Organ. B R A V O ! ❤

I have to admit that I changed the phrasing here and there in the piece, the notation was looking somehow inconsistent and counter-musical (how dare I?) 😄 So I added a good amount of legature where the notes should have been repeated until I found the musical discourse I was looking for. I hope GTB will forgive me and not cast an organ spell on me! 🙃
