Curious to learn about the technicalities (and challenges!) of conducting mineral exploration in Niger? Join us this week with George van der Walt from The MSA Group as we delve into Uranium Exploration in the Tim Mersoï Basin, Niger.
The sedimentary Tim Mersoï Basin which is located in the Agadez Region of northern and central Niger, which is dominated by Sahara Desert. Exploration for uranium dates back to the 1960’s and involved drilling on wide-spaced grid patterns (800 m or more). The major deposits are all located along the main N-S oriented Arlit Fault, but more recent exploration by the likes of GoviEx Uranium Inc and Global Atomic Energy Inc has shown that significant deposits can be found along secondary fault structures.
So come along and learn about the geology, mineralisation and targeting
