George, has me thinking and most people who do numbers knows this. A church should have a percentage of funds go back out into the community and to help the parishioners and flock financially. It’s disgusting! That people who pay tithes to the church, and when they need critical help the church can’t come to their rescue. It’s criminal! I work with a man that gives $8000 a year to his church and gives 80 hours of his time and they give him a lousy $300.00 dollars when his wife fell ill and they got behind on bills. 😢

Bishop Long gave back in a BIG WAY. He used to have people bring there bills to church & pay ALL their bills. They had debt canceling services. I was never a member of New Birth but i did respect the things he did as a Pastor. I hate that he fell in the end with the accusations of the young men. But Bishop was a blessing to many people b4 that happened..

Back in day I had my day job and I worked from 9-5pm and at night I attended holiness pentecostal churches where building funds love offerings and tithes where mandatory and if you did not pay or refuse to pay they would accuse you of ROBBING GOD 😭😭 would a Man rob GOD❓is all they talked about so I didn't want to be known as a back bitting robbing stealing heathen so I gave and I gave faithfully and cheerfully and now that I am heart failure patient getting by in my broken down wheelchair the church won't extend a helping hand they said they'll continually pray 🙏 for me and oh my GOD it's been 15 years now 😭😭😭

Membership in black churches is greatly decreasing. I’ve joined several churches over the yrs and I’ve heard abt very questionable things that were going on in each one. I left the church I grew up in bc the pastor was having an affair with the church secretary & the whole congregation knew it and we tried to vote him out but he wouldn’t leave, his wife did tho. The next church I joined, I really like it but it later came out that the pastor knew ALL the major drug dealers in town and he accepted large amounts of money from them. Word on the street was he took the money to open a Seminary, which is still open til this day. I could go on but it’s too much to tell. Too many distractions in the church nowadays. I just stay home and watch an out of state church online.
