In today's video I'm uncovering the GIANT Brazilian rhubarb, the dramatic Gunnera manicata, a fast growing prehistoric-looking plant with huge leaves. This is one of the most impressive tropical style plants I grow in my exotic jungle garden and the transformation from an 'alien-egg' crown to massive leaves over 1.5m each year across is fantastic to see. I talk about winter care, removing the winter protection and mulching to set up the spring growth. I then answer a few Gunnera questions including when you can plant out smaller / younger plants and when to uncover your Gunnera. Following that, I round the video off with three tips for growing all plants with big leaves in the UK - Tetrapanax, Colocasia, Ricinus and bananas etc. including feeding, watering and positioning the plants in your UK garden.
