We had a small town- Driscoll, Texas- that had a police department whose sole activity was writing tickets on the highway. But Karma is a Bi***. A highway bypass was built on Highway 77 around the town. The town died, along with the police. Justice Has Been Served.

Thats like the city of Lidowici Georgia. It was so bad there the governor erected signs that warned travelers of the speed traps. Eventually, Interstate 95 went through and no tourists have to go through Lidowici anymore on their way to Florida and back. Unfortunately the city suffered since no one stops for gas and food.

Even if the police weren't corrupt, they should still be defunded. America spends entirely too much money on police and we still have the highest crime rate of any western democracy. America spends over $113 BILLION every year on police, this is more than France and Germany spend on their entire militaries COMBINED, it's more than Russia spends on its military while fighting the war in Ukraine....and that doesn't even account for the epidemic of overtime theft by police that nothing is ever done about. Do you think it's a good expenditure to spend the most on cops and still have the highest crime? The reason for this, and you csn find this out in 2 minutes on Google, is that there is LITERALLY zero proof that more cops lowers crime, in fact there's plenty of evidence showing crime can and usually does go up when we add more police. Just look at the crime rate under Reagan who spent more on law enforcement than any preceeding president. Why did crime go up under Reagan? Because there was a 10%+ unemployment rate!!! Quite literally the only thing that has any evidence to show it lowers crime isnlowering poverty! This is how literally every other developed western nation has less crime per capita than America while having fewer cops and less harsh punishments. This is why anybody who claims they want to lower crime by adding more cops or increasing punishments doesn't actually want to lower crime, they just want to punish more.

As a former municipal auditor, I can attest to the fact that this goes on everywhere. MADD, mothers against drunk driving, post ‘80’s, made cities realize they could make millions off of fines from just drunk driving alone. Since then, city controllers work with the police to ensure the quotas are met - even tho they deny it. This allowed for guaranteed raises and a higher participation rate for their 401k’s. The PD in Locust Grove Ga exists for the sole purpose of collecting revenue. Real crime just gets ignored because there's no money in that. It's always been that way to some extend but now it's just "Policing for profit". Y'all need to look closer to home.

Every cop has to come up with i think 30 tickets a month. So they hand tickets out like candy. Some cities are like that. That's how they make 100k salary jobs. They eat off us. Half the time, we aren't even doing anything wrong but they will find something any which what way. Seen it first hand many many times. Shit gotta change. Going on way to long y'all

If you ever come near Atlanta make sure you go through >Pine Lake< near Stone Mountain. The police have a speed zone of 35mph that drops down to 25mph for maybe only 20 yards. Theyre counting on you to stay at 35 and miss the 25 mph speed sign. All they do is collect revenue.
