Stop it. Notre Dame finished ranked 2nd in 1993, with the same 12-1 record that FSU had, and they beat FSU head to head. Every non casual knows Notre Dame was the real champ in 93. Still a while, but people need to stop bringing up 1988. Also, when you have actual standards for enrollment and don't just pay people.to go there like the SEC has for decades, it is harder to win.
