It's such an (ready for it?) enchanting place. Well I guess ol' Georgia O'Keefe bein' an artist and all that, it's right and proper she built her home, i.e., got to live in such a beautiful spot.

That is an enchanted place for sure! She knew what she was doing!

I’ve spent many happy weeks at Ghost Ranch. It is a retreat center. Anyone can go there and stay a few days. Or take a class and stay for a week! They have rooms and a mess hall. It is beautiful.

The Pedernal or Flint hill is what that mesa or flat topped mountain you said was Georgia's is called by us locals. I've lived here in northern New Mexico 47 years and the landscape never gets old Abiquiu and surroundings is magical, isn't it?

Around 1982 I took a photo class with Eliot Porter the master photographer and afterwards went to Santa Fe to meet his friend artist Georgia at her house. That day, she wasn't home. For some unknown reason not one of the photos I took of the area came out. So I was disappointed twice. I've been back several times and each time I wanted to stay longer. It's my magically place in the outback.

@@FrugalRVGal thanks planning on it! In process of finding new RV for part time travel. I’ve loved Georgia forever.. thought that’s what I’d end up doing… building s place in the desert with mountain views and do art… 😁 I have a head shot poster of her in her older years. I love every line on her face. Inspiring woman.

Loved the video Frugal. I really liked Georgia O’Keeffe‘s house with all the big glass windows and the awesome view of the mountains. It kinda reminded me of the view out our back windows of our RVs and how lucky we are to be able to have such incredible views of the world around us. Thanks for sharing. ❤️🤗

Thank you for posting this tour of the two homesteads Georgia O'Keefe owned and lived in in New Mexico. I am currently reading Susan Wittig Albert's "Someone Always Nearby" which tells the story of Georgia O'Keefe in New Mexico through a fictionalized biography based on Mary Chabot's writings as well as letters, and other research. Mary Chabot was a writer who worked for and lived with Georgia O'Keefe in New Mexico. She managed the household and worked with O'Keefe to renovate Abiquiu. It was great to be able to view these places on your clips!
