Please keep in mind that you are not guaranteed to succeed even though you have provided all the necessary documents. In most of the case (90%+), The HKSAR government will not give passports to non-Chinese foreigners.

Hopefully GG could receive your HK passport soon. I applied for my Aus permanent residency last year, I spent around 3 weeks gathering some documents. Then, I submitted them and got mine approved in slightly more than 2 months (direct grant).

And from what I can see. even those so called "local lawyers" are NOT in the right mindset to actually deal with these immigration issues. Is this why... the city is in such chaos? You are right but miss one detail. Georgia need to renounce her South Africa citizenship to get Chinese Nationality to get HKSAR passport, but after she gets HKSAR passport, it is up to her to get as many nationalities as she want! If South Africa allows former citizens to restore citizenship, she can restore or re-get her citizenship again and it is ok for her to do that!

​@@gongminjilove 不是曲線入籍，就是入籍。中國國籍香港永久居民加入外國國籍，可以合法雙國籍，外國人香港永久居民想要加入中國籍，就要放棄原來的國籍，只能有中國國籍，當然，有了中國國籍以後，可以加入其他國籍。外國人並不是不能拿中國籍，只是需要申請加入中國國籍。在香港加入中國國籍，外國人需要向入境事務處申請，然後由入境事務處決定是否批准。具體滿足了什麼標準一定能拿到中國國籍，據我所知，沒有公開的標準。外國人可以申請加入中國國籍，但是外國人不能因爲以下情形去上訴，同樣的條件，爲什麼別人能入籍中國而我不能。

希望下次Georgia申請拿到加入中國國籍證書！（就可以憑此可以申請回鄉證入内地玩，以及申請香港特區護照，不过回鄉證需要用中文名） I hope that next time Georgia applies to get a certificate of Chinese citizenship! (can use the certificate to apply for a Home Return Permit to visit the Chinese Mainland, and apply for a Hong Kong SAR passport. However, the Home Return Permit requires a Chinese name~)

申請加入中國籍的條件起碼要是中國人近親和連續居港7年，看之前視頻，兩人才剛結婚，估計未符合居住條件。而且入中國籍要放棄南非國籍，估計比較難取捨。 The two essential criteria to acquire for a hksar ppt are 1. Immediate relatives of a Chinese citizen; 2. Have been resided in Hong Kong in the past 7 consecutive year immediately prior to application. I remmebe the two of you just got married and lived in SA during the pandemic, therefore, not satisfying the residency requirement. Also, China does not recognise dual nationality so you must relinquish your SA citizenship upon becoming a Chinese citizen, which is an essential requirement for the Hong Kong SAR ppt. In short , to get a HKSAR PPT, you need to be a Hong Kong permanent resident who holds Chinese citizenship .

@@grumpy_7155 : "Right of abode" always meant the local local people... Each immigration office is supposed to reflect and represent its people.... If you read chinese immigration laws, it does not really allow foreigners to settle there.. not really. They would stay and work etc. But not to settle etc. As in.. they cannot own own the lands etc... The HK ID card is nothing but a "permit".. It can be taken away. It does not mean "once you get this, you could stay there forever". If you don't have jobs, or cannot find jobs, then you do have to leave... If China does not allow dual nationalities, then it means that, you need to hold your own passport, and then the ID card...

Both mainland and Hong Kong and Macau (or in technically it will have Taiwan) are Chinese nationality. But for passport, they're different.😂That's why GG needs to get Chinese nationality first and because she is Chinese and she is HK PR so she can apply for HongKong passport.

That is because the HK SAR Passport is supposed to be for the local indigenous population only, and nobody else ? Cos either people need to leave, or that they need to hold the right passport. Since neither of these people are from HK. I don't know what they think they are doing.. and that is half the problem today in HK.... The HK SAR Passport is supposed to replace the other British passport though. This is the whole point... 喬寶寶 = British mah.... So this is why he was rejected. This makes sense. Cos he did not transfer his passport, and he did not renounce his British passport though. You cannot hold HK SAR Passport and other passports etc. Since China does not except dual nationalities. 盛智文 = He must have given up his Canadian citizenship... that is why.... Or maybe because he was German. And Bo Bo was Indian. I don't know...
