@@duchi78 I wouldn't be so sure. I have been observing our Polish highlanders, who also have their beautiful culture, maybe not as old as Georgian, but still - it survived several hundred years - just until recently when traditional singing at fireplaces is being replaced with listening to Western music, at least in some regions. Folk ensembles are trying to preserve the tradition, but it's not live any more. So please be aware how precious but vulnerable gem you possess. Stay yourself and try to make your children aware that modern, commercialized global pop culture doesn't offer anything which can be even compared to the culture, which has seen shaped over centuries and is authentic, not "plastic". May it stay forever and be inspiration for people in other countries.

@@zl8018 we, Georgians don't have to fair that - You, Polish are hard working people. We, Georgians like to chill, drink wine , eat and then... yeah, we are not singing western, trust me! We were too lazy to learn English at the fist place... So Laziness and not wanting to work or learn english will help us to preserve our tradition of singing! ;o) hehehe
@zl8018 Жыл бұрын
@@virtual7insanity Maybe :) The most important thing is to not replace your original songs etc. with western crap played from electronic devices - and I have seen that in some mountain regions of Poland, which before had tradition of chilling out at fireplaces, singing their beautiful songs and now they most often listen to some pop music at their meetings.

Thank you, with all due respect to your wonderful Corsica, the great Corsican culture. Also as a historian by profession. The thing is Georgians in Georgia ( Caucasus) , Corsicans in Corsica, Etruscans, Sardinians in Italy, Picts in Britain, Spanish Iberians in Spain and other Iberian, Ibero/ Celtic peoples have same ethno, ethnic origin, also, so for centuries and millennia between the ancestors of the Georgians and the Romans, after the Eastern Romans, there were closely mixed ethno-cultural relations, which also accordingly affected the genetic level of the peoples of the Georgians and Italians (connection with this, this is why Georgian surnames often sound like Italian, or Corsican, with the same endings) and this is why all these listed peoples ( together with originality of each of these ethno, ethnic peoples) have similarities, identical in different forms of culture, in folk music, dance, in ancient architectural style and so on. In addition their ancient Georgian / Iberian/ Kolkhian cultures, so to speak, the common ancient European / Iberian culture, Georgians had and have all different other European (beginning from ancient times, influences with ancient Greek civilizations, cultures, with Roman cultures, later with East Roman/Byzantine culture, with Catholic Europe and other European cultures during all historical periods in history of Georgians, Georgia) cultures and their influence. Based on everything I written in my previous comments here, I note once again that Georgians (Also, the ancestors of the Georgians lived not only in the territory of Georgia, but also in other parts of Europe, South-East Europe.) are one of the most ancient European peoples, which is proved by history, life itself, proved at the level of genetics (proved genealogically in different periods of time, including the director of the Zurich Genealogical Center R. Scholz), archeology, cultures, culture and so on. For example, Kingdom of Kolkhida from Western Georgia is also one of the accomplices in the creation of the Mediterranean civilization. Sincerely, Alex.

Hi. Search for the following words: "georgian folk songs", "hamlet gonashvili", "basiani ansamble", "georgian orthodox chant" (pay attention to georgian and make sure it is not gregorian), "georgian supra songs", "Sofo Batilashvili - Ra Kargi Xar", "georgian song chakrulo", "georgian lullaby". You can start from here and don't miss "Hamlet Gonashvili". You can also do search for some songs like "georgian song daigvianes", "bindis peria sopeli", "tsintskaro", "hamlet gonashvili orovela" (orovela is song name). If you like those (and you will) I refer you to some websites as well. Don't miss Georgian Orthodox Chants also (it is of completely different church music from any other nation).

You can not agree that God is always important for Georgian people. When we sit down to eat, we first praise our God Jesus Christ. And then the song begins. The Georgian table can be compared to the sequence of the Orthodox liturgy. This is a small story about the Georgian table, if you are interested in anything else you can ask me
@tristanobrien40963 жыл бұрын
@@Dorotheos.sabashvili my emoji was meant for the wittiness of the comment, and for the slight sigh because of the sometimes overused claim of a group of religious people to state that everything is JESUS, JESUS, JESUS. My observation is that in many of that occasions the Divine is placed outside of one’s self, as if we were just to be an observer. I guess my point is, that I don’t believe that is the case and we may remember and feel that we are all an integral part of the Devine/God/Allah/All That Is and the (wonderful) experience as seen by the interweaving of the voices and energies of these men coming together and creating harmony can be experienced and explained on multiple levels. For one it is just men singing beautifully. For the other it will be the expression of the Devine part of themselves and recognizing that part in others. Or it can be both. So, in that sense, you were both correct.
@nuzzi66203 жыл бұрын
@@tristanobrien4096 Another example of a Westerner trying to secularize ancient Christian traditions. You’re responding to a Georgian person clearly telling you that Christ (not some vague representation of “divinity”) is the source and root of his own Georgian traditions, going so far as to compare it to the Orthodox Divine Liturgy of his church. Show some respect.
