oh I forgot to mention one thing. did you notice how all the people we were talking with spoke very good English!? isn’t it surprising? quite remarkable for an ex-USSR republic. Georgia has come a long way! 👍

26:30 Interesting. I'd never heard of *Chacha (brandy).* It's made from the grape "solids" (skin, pulp, seeds, and stems) that remain after pressing for juice or wine.

Chacha is a pomace brandy. Pomace is pretty much the leftovers of the grapes after wine making. It`s traditionally homebrewed by local Georgians.

I think the traditional 8000-yr-old Qvevri method is the exceptional thing here and makes Georgia wine production more interesting than anywhere else. It is the root of human wine production for western civilization. The modern wineries were not as interesting because I live in Sonoma Co, California where one cannot throw a rock wthout hitting a winery. The archaeology/anthropology 'soul of man' and survival for 8K years is where it's at.

Are you diving now into the wine industry ? Why not. With your excellent english speaking skills may be you climb up to an ambassadeur of the georgian wine industry. China is a big market but see what happened to the australian wine industry. First they bought most of the vine yards but later when most of them were depending on the export to China they increased the taxes as tool for their politicals wills. Good luck Slava

nice video and sunny information. The wine culture was of course never destroyed by anybody and is today more commercialized as it was ever before. The wine farmers always did make their great wines and there is no reason to believe that the big companies are poor or doing some amazing things. Please also think about showing Ukrainian flags that implement political issues in a video for people all over the world in all of their diversity and from everywhere. Good video but too strong on fancy big companies orientated and political coloured. so for this one no thumb.
