I was so excited to see you start this Massive Project!! i totally agree about changing Dollhouse structures. The instructions to me are merely a "suggestion"!! LOLOL!! Even when the dollhouse is already constructed you can finish it any way you want! Add a floor or a wall, knock walls out, close doors, cut out a window or even make a window bigger!! I have always felt that way it is so much fun seeing you fearlessly show how it is done! Thank you for sharing this!

Woohoo! Can't wait to see how Georgie's Palace turns out. I am beyond excited. I have an Edwardian house that I have "converted" into the home of 'Explorer' who needs a home for his collections of artifacts, allsorts of weird & wonderful things have found a home in this Dolls house. My husband rolls his eyes when i find some obscure thing in a charity/antique shop that will fit nicely in the explorers house😂

@ oh, I ca I can only imagine and yet, I can so relate! Even though I have never and will never do anything like your amazing builds, I do treasure my own more simple, yet oh so sweet dollhouse forays! Anytime I’m not able to fall right asleep, I immediately “visit my dollhouses” in my mind! I take “tours”, while also making future plans for rooms and houses (I have 6 of various eras, styles and sizes). And yes, it always results in both my excitement and my falling asleep … happily ready to get up and going in my little studio the next morning! I would imagine this is a shared experience for many of us who find ourselves so drawn and enchanted by the miniature world! We are so fortunate, aren’t we? OMG! I love the arches! What a great idea. And yes, never let the “house” or kit dictate what your finished project will be. I don’t think I have ever done a kit the way it was designed, I always modify to suit my vision. I have a hard time sleeping too. Sometimes it’s because I’m trying to figure out how to do something I’ve never done before. This project is going to be soooo awesome. Did I say I was EXCITED!!

So glad that you are taking us along for the actual construction on the palace! I have been amazed by the 'artifacts', statues, etc. that are going into the museum, and it shall be wondrous to see your dreams becoming reality. The back arches are ideal. Urns and vases could work on top of those.

Yet another fantastic project i cant wait to see what you come up with next to build . I was re watching your hillside project and loved the idea of the foam board cladding that you use ,so have decided to use that idea on the out side of my doll house , but been having an issue of locating peelable foam board , Please could let me know where i would be able to obtain so i can start my renovation project

@dawnhillman4347 Hi Dawn, thank you for asking 🙏 when I bought the first box of foamboard, it was easy to glue to the house, let it dry, and then peel the outer paper off. But when I bought the next box (from the same shop) it was sent in different packaging. When I did the same thing with it, the paper cover didn't peel off very well at all! I spoke to the shop and they told me they use different suppliers, and couldn't guarantee that I'd get the exact one I need! But since then, I have found on amazon that you can buy foamboard without any paper covering at all. So I have ordered a pack of 10 sheets of 4mm thick foamboard without paper covering. It should arrive tomorrow and I will hopefully be using it on the Egyptian museum room in part three of my videos 🙏

It's strange really, and it even still surprises me each time it happens, but I think that the apocalypse could be going on in the world, but if someone was talking to me about miniatures etc, I'd be just fine! 😂😂😂 I so hope you enjoy your journey. How deep are the rooms. I have started building my colonial and have made it 19 1/2 inches deep as I plan on doing some false stairways walls with false stairs behind like I have seen in a couple of your builds. I have had to put blankets over the houses in the family room and basement rec room to keep Miss Willow from rearranging the furniture, I forgot how busy a five month old kitten can be. ❤

A very interesting situation arises when one realizes that Amalie, owner of the Parisian Haberdashery has a name. After watching MANY or your posts, the only references you seem to give to the owners of the Art Deco House and Georgies's Palace are "the gay guys" and "the wealthy couple". Do they have names? Should they have names? Who knows!

@RobinCollins-ll2bs ah yes Robin, that is interesting, but I can answer that. When I did my first house (the Boho house) it was a family moving in (mum, dad, kids) they didn't have names either. Then the next house I did was the haberdashery, with living quarters. But at the same time, one evening I decided to re watch a favorite film on did. It's called Amélie. It's a really lovely film, and in French (with subtitles). So that night in bed, Amélie came into my head again, and because I was also thinking about the haberdashery.....she just moved herself in! That's why the whole building had then appeared in a Parisian suburb! But I've always imagined who lives in the houses, it's just that Amélie was the only one who introduced herself by name! 😊
