Even Ulpianus was presumed dead for a long time but he was doing some solo investigation when he was not wanting to be found. Tbh, iirc the frog race that Bluepoison's from is actual a rather rare race, a specific tribe from Sargon. Think it's mentioned in either her paradox file or in one of the vignette events.

As far as I know, the Pepe hate has two sources. One is that her design doesn't stand out and is too simple for a limited operator and the other is the fact that her kit isn't groundbreakingly broken for a limited operator specially since the limited operator before her was extremely broken. Personally, I think the first one is purely subjective while the other is just plain unrealistic expectation.

Don't talk about Wis'adel, she's anomaly the who is above broken Also, Being limited doesn't mean goes broken, but the unique of being limited, + the story/lore fits to being limited W, who usually mine & Nuke Nian, the Tankiest Defender, & her unique kit Dusk, Strongest AoE/Splash Caster, the who can same power or above S2 Eyja (Eyja win because her Debuff RES), & unlimited summon Rosmontis, Art DMG (S1), & Summon + Debuff DEF (S3) Ash, Goes brrrr when against Stun enemies, & Shift the Enemies (S3) But yeah, you're also not wrong about her (Pepe) because the community just looked to that 2 points, meanwhile I can say she's pretty broken...

Narantuya is based off of something that is similar to the Sand Man, the Nightmare (Nightzmora in Terra), which is basically a myth where this horse is believed to stomp your chest while you sleep to create nightmares. If you've played the Near Light event (can't remember if you have or not) then you've seen a nightzmora before, namely Tola the Nightmare Knight (There's also one in the most recently added IS5 ending tho I doubt you've gotten to that, as well as Vogelweide, one of the retired knights at Nearl's bar, being a half-nightzmora). Nightzmora are also basically the Mongolians of Terra where they were well known as conquerors, something that Tola takes to heart, tho I suspect Narantuya has a different goal (seems to be a bit of thief type of character).

Narantuya, the redhead from Nightmare's Descent, is a Nightzmora. That's the same clan as the Khagan from Near Light who could attack any units who had their backs to the darkness.

I believe part of the Pepe hate comes from global players in Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia. A year or so ago, some trolls there harassed Namie on Twitter until she blocked them, which they took as a huge victory (Reddit post titled: "Apparently some random troll has been harassing Namie..."). Namie had made a Tweet supporting Pride month and players in Indonesia fumed about it (Indonesia is predominantly Muslim).

On terra, the animal people come in "elder" varients and "ancient" varients. An ancient Kuranta may reflect a modern horse breed or species, but there are three elder kuranta races we know so far: Pegasus (all the nearls and platinum), Unicorn, and Nightzmora AKA Nightmare. They do indeed have nightmare powers, And if you finish walking the dust, you might even figure out why it's notable that she is Nightzmora in Sargon. ;)

BTW Narantuya is a nightsmora, like the ones in the Near Light story. Likely the nightmare thing is a play on the race along with the fact that one of the racial traits is that they are very versed in the shadows. She's also a treasure hunter, thoe a very.... clumsy one let's say. Personally between Pepe and Narantuya I find Narantuya the more interesting character but Pepe is the meme lord

The problem with Pepe that people saw was lay in making the limited Operator for a event set in AK-Egypt not only incredibly white, but also dressed up as a theme park mascot instead of actually including or respecting any parts of egyptian culture. Contrast that with say, Here a People Sows, a celebration of chinese agricultural traditions and culture.

If you observe the past limited operators, they are either NPCs with high popularities , or existing operator's alter, but Pepe is none of them. Worse, her skillsets are boring and weak and her E1 art doesn't stand out compared to other limited ops. Finally, the event story also mid (not bad but also not impressive). She was only saved because her theme song was too good and went viral.
