@Nyrufa3 жыл бұрын
@@kommentier9884 From what I understand about the lore, the Sith do not mindlessly give themselves over to passion and emotions. They train to focus their emotions, drawing upon them to fuel their connection to the force. Force Rage places the user in a state that blocks out pain and fatigue, while enhancing their physical attributes considerably. In order to use Force Lightning, the wielder must fully embrace the dark side within themselves, and then subjugate it to their will. That's why Force Lightning is supposed to be one of the highest level techniques a Sith is capable of using. And it's why nobody who follows the Jedi code would ever be able to use it. The Jedi constantly underestimate the Sith as beings who are undisciplined and foolish. Yet the Star Wars franchise is constantly depicting the Jedi as being deceived or even outright defeated by them on numerous occasions. If the Jedi are supposed to be wiser and more disciplined than the Sith, then why are they constantly being defeated by these short cut taking barbarians?
@THEO009003 жыл бұрын
@@Nyrufa in my opinion both Sith and Jedi are on the wrong. The former are their true self but fall victim to their emotions. The Jedi on the other hand are too bureaucratic and fake with their beliefs. It is not weird why some of the most evil and powerful Sith are former Jedi who got fed up with the fake enlightenment. The true path of the Force is to be yourself and not bureaucrat following laws, but also have control over your emotions and your actions. Even the new Star wars movies would be better if at the end instead of: {SPOILER ALERT} Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order, she and Kylo both survived, and created a "school " that teaches both the way of the Dark and Light side aka the way of the Force.

"Your actions reflect only light. You appear to be an agent of the dark side, but it is only a mask". I feel that this line shows how Jaesa, as well as the majority of force users on both ends of the spectrum, seemingly still misunderstand the true purpose of the sith. The dark side promotes freedom, ambition, and that its users embrace their anger. It is easy to see how such a list of values could be perverted to bring violence and mindless destruction, but it need not be a tool of evil. Valuing freedom can also mean valuing and fighting for the freedom of others(Including their freedom to live) rather than effectively meaning you get to do whatever you want, and anger isn't inherently a bad thing either. Anger and discontentment are the fuel for nearly all change in society; it can mean barbaric rage and senseless violence and hatred, but it can also mean being rightfully outraged at blatant injustice. The republic banned slavery only on paper, and it was still openly practiced in many parts of the galaxy. And the Jedi order absolutely knew this, and did nothing about it. Righteous anger can root out corruption and impurity, and the strength it gives you can be wielded to break the chains of oppression and tyranny. It is a tragedy that this righteous interpretation of the sith ways, which I wholeheartedly believe to have been their original purpose, is seemingly all but forgotten by the galaxy at the time of the starwars movies. I see LS SW not necessarily as a follower of the light side trying to deceive the sith by hiding amongst them, but as a lith lord who embraces these original meanings.

I love this explanation and this is why I believe Revan willingly chose to ‘fall’ and embrace the dark side in the beginning. He couldn’t just sit back and watch the Mandalorians destroy innocent worlds while the Jedi did nothing. The only issue is once you start down the ‘dark’ path it’s easy to forget the reasons why you ‘fell’ in the first place and selfless can slowly become selfish. “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions”

I never understood why it seems like it has to be all-or-nothing. To be human is to experience both passion and serenity. To give into passion is to burn out like a candle lit at both ends. To surrender to serenity is to flee from the world itself, to stagnate like a still pond slowly becoming overrun by algae. Nature shows us that it's a living-breathing thing, and also that the living, breathing things in it will always use whatever advantage they can find to seek food, shelter, and procreation. In other words, nature is both life and a tool. So, too, would be the Force. Tangentially related, I think the reason most Sith fear the concept of a "Light Sith" is because it would be possible for such a being to overthrow them with a power they can't comprehend - not just the Force, but also the bonds they forge with others around them. An Empire built on love and respect, rather than fear and hatred. Of course, such a thing would eventually cease to be an Empire... It is better to be loved and respected than feared and loathed.

It isn't the Dark Side that the Sith strive for. Their goals aren't about control, it's centered around Freedom: freedom of self from the chains that hold them back to not be bound by dogmas and dictations in order to choose and eke out their own destinies however they see fit. The only reason why they stand against the Jedi is due to an event in their shared past when the Sith were visited by Hyperspace explorers from the Republic and the leaders saw it as the perfect pretense to wage war to claim dominance of power: because at that same time the central leader had died and the two lieutenants were fighting a civil war. The horrors of the Great Hyperspace War lived on in the hearts of every Red Sith that was mercilessly cut down by the Jedi that saw them all as monsters: regardless of whether the Sith in-question was fighting or not, a great tragedy that would go on to breed even more bloodshed for generations to come even long after the Red Sith were finally driven to extinction. It would have been an interesting Sequel Trilogy were the main character in it was a Red Sith born in the Unknown Regions seeking out the New Republic on behalf of his people for sanctuary and amnesty from the Imperial Remnant that wanted to weaponize them and from the members of the Jedi Praxeum that had prosecuted them for the crimes of a people they never knew or were a part of. To see that Red Sith (played by John Boyega) go on a journey to become a Jedi and master the Force in order to help protect his people. I'd watch the shit out of a story like that more than whatever that Ad-Lib Tug-O-War Frankenstein Fanfic of a Trilogy Disney had signed off on.
@efaristi97373 жыл бұрын
And to achieved freedom, they needed the Dark Side? you're giving them excuses, you don't become powerful in the Dark Side without being selfish, ambitious and uncaring about life and balance. If freedom was their real goal then Light Side would have been more than enough for them. The Jedis had good reasons to seek their extinctions.
@boxtank52883 жыл бұрын
@@efaristi9737 And yet both sides have their flaws. The light side can make one Self Righteous and blind them via their inflated pride. The Jedi can be woefully dogmatic. Whereas the Dark Side is intoxicating, ESPECIALLY to former Jedi who once had to maintain strictness. Sith are often times quite self destructive as well.
@derektoews55863 жыл бұрын
In a way, the Sith do seek control, as in their eyes, not being in control is not being truly free. Another reason many Sith hate the Republic is not just because of the Great Hyperspace War and the Sith Genocide, but because of the sheer difference in their views on Religion. Jedi consider themselves free to make their own decisions, even during the Clone Wars. To them, they are a religion separated from the state, despite being their attack pets. To Sith, the state is an extension of the religion. So when they see the faults of the Republic, bureaucracy and corruption and et cetera, in their eyes they are the faults of the Jedi as well.
@derektoews55863 жыл бұрын
@@efaristi9737 the Dark Side is not evil. It is power. Only power. The real problem is that all absolute power corrupts. The Jedi's own power corrupted them as well. However, due to being simply power, individuals often are corrupted far faster than light siders are
@terranceroff81133 жыл бұрын
I've always thought the Sith code did have it right. apparently something got lost in translation, and in understanding. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. "Through passion I gain strength. Through strength I gain power. Through power I gain freedom. The force will set me free." Most all Sith practitioners never get past the second part. They loose sight of the true goal which is freedom. They become slaves to power. Life death order chaos all all part of the living universe. The Force is simply a tool. It can guide, it can demand, it can refute and refuse. What is Good, and what is evil can only be known by understanding both. Part of made Revan so interesting BTW. The force demand conflict. If you are controlled by the desire for conflict however you are not free. The SIth have part of secret, the Jedi have part of the secret. They are both right, and both wrong. Gotta be Duct Tape. It's a has a light side and a dark side and it binds the universe together!
