Toto is such an underrated band outside of Africa. Make no mistake, Africa is a phenomenal song, but Toto has so much awesome in their songbook. Porcaro's rhythms and Lukather's wide-vibrato guitar solos are fantastic. I don't know many rock bands that can seamlessly jump time signatures and grooves in a song so fluidly as Toto did. Not a lot of people realize that the main core of Toto wrote and recorded with Steely Dan, Seals & Croft and Boz Scaggs. Further, they were the backing band for much of Michael Jackson's Thriller album, which is widely acclaimed as one of the best albums in all of history. If you like Thriller-era MJ, you'll probably like Toto's grooves.

I have a personal connection to Toto..Jeff Porcaro's Dad and my Dad were musicians together in Hartford CT, and grew up together. Although I never had the opportunity to meet Jeff and the band, I knew his parents and they were awesome people. Such a small world when it comes to music. I will always hold that band close, not to mention I saw them in concert at Hartford Civic Center in the 70s.
