Would have been so awesome if in Spiderman 2 when mysterio begins his illusion we get a moment like in arkham asylum and the screen freezes, starts glitching, cuts to black and out of nowhere it begins the boss fight from the original neversoft game or even the sega genesis game and we're in the stage not knowing what to do then a prompt for the x button appears saying "break free" we start mashing and the screen restores itself and starts the boss fight proper with mysterio saying "how did you escape my illusion?"

Mysterio’s design in Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2023) were pretty cool.

I think you mean the 2004 game, and I whole heartily agree. I think the B-Movie Alien plot would have been a great movie in Sam Raimi's hands, then you end it with the scene in the convenient store, with Spidey knocking the dome off, and it's Bruce Campbell.

They need to stop with this "big mysterio" gimmick in his boss fights. He can do SO MUCH MORE. His boss fight should feel like youre on something. My perfect fight would be him tricking you via fourth wall breaking. Your health bar becomes a sword and mysterio sends it out to hurt you. Your gadgets and webs turn on you and attack you. He messes with your controller and switches the buttons and actions. Laughs at you through the controller mic or does 4 dimemsional taunts through headphones if youre wearing them. Making fun of you by taking away your costume and be in your underwear. Mess with you irl by having a fake "controller disconnected" prompt and the game stops you from moving. Possibilities are ENDLESS with this guy
