I was a at concert he played back in the early 90's. It was a basic 5 piece pearl. He came in and in 15 minutes had that set tuned like it was in the studio...THE ENTIRE SET... So it wouldn't surprise me if he tuned it himself.

Typical Guitar Center mismanagement, can't even get basics right. Gerald didn't tune the drums or mic them, he just played. Incredibly. True, this version of Spain is different but this wasn't a jazz fusion event, it's a drum off. The band decided to play a song which would be technically demanding for Gerald. He's an amazing player especially considering this isn't even his typical genre of music. I'd even go as far as saying that he's the best.

I'm able to enjoy this cuz I dont know what spain is so I cant compare it.. It does sound mario'Y so what. And the snare... It has to be the mix cuz it sounds flat... Not sure you can make a snare sound like that naturally it has to be the mix.. It was probably mix down cuz it was killing.
