Reading too much into the video. The video is just about the bond they had and showing memories through home videos. At Gerald's memorial service his childhood friends all shared how Gerald always talked about wanting to sing with his daddy when he grew up. The group Levert was Gerald, his brother Sean who passed away less than a year after Gerald and their cousin Marc Gordon.
