This is probably my favorite interview with Gerard. A lot of the time he looks pretty uncomfortable and you can tell that he's irritated by the odd, poorly thought-out questions that people ask him. But you asked him intriguing questions about personal opinions and such, without invading his privacy or making him feel uneasy. He looks generally pleased. Good job!

I think one really important think MCR has taught me is that im never going to be cool, perfect, and im never going to fit in and I should stop trying because before you know it your going to try so hard to be all that and fit in, you will just end up being fake and no one wants that. I should accept it and embrace that. If I were to be a painter but the paintings are dark and creepy and no one likes that, paint more of that and show it off but not in a bad way. Do what you love even if no one cares for it. Thats who you are and you cant change that so deal with it

Like, if i knew this guy in real life and not through the band I would still think the same because he's just one of those people that always seem so genuine. The things he says always seem to deeply resonate me and I hope to be like him and follow my dreams one day!

this is one of my favourite moments of him because he's just so fucking. attractive. i'm sorry but that had to be said. but this is my first time seeing this video - only saw gifs of it before - and i just fall more and more in love with him, i swear. he's got a very sensible worldview (kinda hard to find in celebrities and/or, ahem, Americans, if you ask me), he's very clever, and he's always sincere. the world needs more people like him, if you ask me.
@alexm815611 жыл бұрын
Did you seriously just say it's hard to find celebrities with a sensible world view, especially AMERICANS? Saying that in itself is contradictory because it just shows that you don't have a sensible worldview because you just put down an entire nations artists by making a statement which is dead wrong, I know of plenty of artists who are american and are some of the most intelligent, sincere artist I've ever heard of. I'm not trying to fight but that was offensive of you to say.
@stvltiloqvent10 жыл бұрын
Alex Murray i said it mostly as a joke 'cause the stereotypical American is pretty dumb. i do kind of regret it after posting that comment, i knew it was pretty offensive... but hey, stereotyping people is what a lot of Americans do too, so, you know. *shrugs*
@kingBPP194710 жыл бұрын
Onyx Helena Ember-Graves Obviously, you've never been to the Sudan or Syria. We are the rudest and crudest? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. If a woman talks to another married man in certain middle eastern countries, they stone her to death. And we are awful because we don't learn other languages? You hate living here because we are so bad? Go live in the Sudan and see what rude and crude looks like. Take a stroll through Mexico City, see what happens. People like you, the self deprecating American, are clueless over privileged babies that have not lived in the world long enough to come to a logical opinion. Look at were most of the Nobel Peace prize winners "for science/medicine" come from. We are not dumb, where do you people get that bullshit? Why, because we don't fit the elitist European model of what's classy? Most of the great breakthroughs in technology across the board in the past 100 years came from America. Who cured polio? Home computer? Telephone? Yeah, we're stupid and ignorant. Yeah, Americans are just the worst........
@sproutbabe10 жыл бұрын
i'm pretty sure she was talking about artists. its shocking how the music business is and how it runs and we DO need more bands that are 95% real. We need more people like Gerard way. The first time I saw this interview I was like, "Wow, this is a shit interviewer," and not just because of her english or whatever, just in general. But watching it again, I think what she was doing (however unintentional it may have been) was really important, because I think she says a lot of shit some MCR fans talk about a lot and G has always been a great dude to me because he's like, "I don't know what you want me to say, but this is what I actually think and feel, and I wanna talk about what I do, not who I am." And I don't know if I would be able to always make that distinction in his shoes, which is why I love this man so much.

Thank you so much :) Yeah I think Gee formulated it in a good way: that I ask 'personal opinion questions' I mean, if you are going to interview an artist, those are the thing I really want to know, to try to see how the artists thinks, how his mind was able to create art that is so inspirational and comforting for so many people. I'd rather hear that then why did you dye your hair... Thank you :)
