Great choices! I need to pick up JV Artisan Pure, it keeps turning up on everyone's favorite lists. As far as my favorite summer favorites I'd have to go with Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Cologne and Cartier Declaration D'un Soir. I'll add ADG Profondo too!

I have Le Beau Le Parfum, and am thinking seriously of buying Le Beau EDT. Is there any point in owning both, or is there enough difference to warrant having both?

I think they would be redundant. The best way I can describe it is the scents makeup already makes it feel a bit densely sweet so the EDT just adds a pop that is needed in my opinion especially in the opening.

Hey Gerard. MFK. I would use that as my only fragrance. It is that good.Metallic with a gin and tonic vibe. I have the Varvatos also. Very nice. I like the Blu version a little bit more. Only have a decant of Sedley. Nice, but not full bottle worthy for me. Thanks for the video.

Poolside: D& G Italian Love Office: Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDT Extreme (yeah, flanker of a flanker... but awesome) Formal: Prada Luna Rossa Sport, completely misnamed IMHO, (Creed Viking, ADG Profumo, and Platinum Egoiste came to mind) Date Night: Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDT, because my wife loves it Anytime: Elysium Parfum Cologne, but any Elysium or the clones Trillium or Imperium will do. I like Imperium because I can carry the bottle around with me and not worry about losing $30 versus $300.

I thought I loved Profumo and got a decant from my dad, after 2 wearings I confirmed it was not for me, it.s for like a 50+ man and I.m only 35. You surprised me, I was expecting some ADG, but more Profondo than Profumo... Personally, I'd probably choose as follows - 1. Nautica Voyage, 2. Missoni Pour Homme (or BDC of course), 3. Moschino Uomo?, 4. Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc EDT, 5. Versace Pour Homme or Dior Homme Cologne. Anyway, I ordered Loewe Paula's Ibiza yesterday, so I'm curious to see if it fits or not.

I recently purchased Givenchy Gentleman Society, and there's a base that reminds me of JPG Le Beau EDT. Not sure where the notes are coming from to be so similar, but they're very similar to me on my skin during the mids.

@@gerardgeorge I was looking at the Ingredient list on the box of Gentleman Society, and I see Coumarin which is essentially Tonka bean, so I guess that’s where the similarities are coming from. So although it’s not on the official breakdown, it’s definitely in there. Which I guess helps make it different within the line. I love the entire line, so I’m absolutely biased. Lol

I'm not a fan of sea notes/mineral fragrances usually but profumo, misoni wave are a couple of my exceptions. Love Profumo....curious if you tried the new supposed version?

I tried the newer batch at a Sephora (you can tell it's a newer batch because there is no longer a magnetic cap and the lettering is matte white instead of reflective silver) and it is indeed slightly different. The incense note and "darkness" of the fragrance is dialed back. Kind of smells like a watered down version of the original. Can't comment on longevity however a lot of people say it doesn't last as long. I'm trying to hunt down an older batch with the magnetic cap so I can have a backup bottle. The original formulation is a masterpiece.

Here's my five that I think aren't going to get talked about by fragrance reviewers. Baldassarini Cool Force - Great cheapie, super underrated house that has the secret of secretly being Hugo Boss under a different name. Mancera Melody of the Sun - SUPER underrated Mancera. Far better than Cedrat Boise in my opinion, just one that was overlooked. Uplifting, it's the smell of summer to me. Eight and Bob Cap d'Antibes - Summer nights, here you go. The quality of Eight and Bob and yet both unique and mass appealing at the same time. Tiny bit of incense to make it good for the evening. Guerlain L'omme Ideal Platinum Privee - New release which is, as far as anyone can tell, a re-release of Guerlain L'omme Ideal Cologne which might be the greatest summer scent of all time. I need tk get a bottle of this asap, but I don't fear the last of my Guerlain L'omme Ideal Cologne bottle dying anymore. Valentino Uomo Acqua - Only Valentino could make tomato leaf and iris into such a refreshing, watery scent that's great for the high heat, but they did it. It was discontinued, but you can still find bottles kicking around and it's unique enough that you should own a bottle. It suffers from the same John Varvatos problem with longevity, but 4 hours with this is better than 7 hours with something mid.

Wow they all sound great. The eight and Bob, mancera and Guerlain have gotten my attention!

@@gerardgeorge Eight and Bob is such a fantastic house. And I don't know if everyone will agree with me, but Guerlain L'omme Ideal Cologne is the best Guerlain of all time in my opinion. Melody of the Sun is a bright, uplifting fruit and tea scent that stays clean and fresh the whole way. It smells like good times. Some of the notes are muted a little bit, like the pear and the lavender, but they're used exactly as much as they need to be. Big burst of lemon and black currant in the top, some florals in the mid to support the sweet tea like jasmine and osmanthus, and a clean musk in the dry down. Absolute summer stunner.

Is artisan pure as sharp as Blu?

Good question. The citrus is a bit creamier so I don't personally get a sharpness from it. The mint in Blu also contributes to some of that but overall pure is a warmer scent than Blu.
