The thing costs $13, opens boxes, and pulls staples. Could pop open a beer. And fits on a keychain. Worth it for me.

The idea is good and the steel is bad. Gerber should reconsider his choice of materials and swap out the useless scissors for a useful tool. I would happily pay more for a quality tool! At the moment Gerber is out of the running for me.

I had a Gerber Dime, and I would advise anyone considering one as an EDC to run in the other direction. The mechanism that provides the "spring" for the jaws is also the only thing that stops the handles from completely collapsing. They should have provided a more robust stop at the bottom of the spring travel to make the pliers be able to withstand more pressure. I broke mine within 30 minutes of taking it out of the package by squeezing too hard. 0/10

They should have removed the package opener and left the big file from the Gerber Dime Travel! If they reinforced the mechanism for the pliers and made the wirecutters actually useful, this would be a homerun.

I've had one for several years. The tools are definitely not above average quality. My advice is to purchase a Swiss Army knife instead.

Can't say Im on board with the "above average quality tools". It's way below the quality of the waste majority of multitools. With poor toolerances, low quality materials and poor fit and finish.

@@sepsism138 Have a pretty good experience with Ganzo, with their quality being better than I expected for the price, besides that I'd say Leatherman, for example the Sidekick, if okay with it being slightly bigger. If on the other hand you don't need that much tool any victorinox will do if going to be light tasks
