This knife isn't in my collection but I have seen many of these that could be considered ancient that people swore by. The LMF 2 has come and gone for me and just recently came again, it is another underrated blade. I once knew a fellow who still had his original LMF 2 that didn't have 420hc but the excellent 12c steel. That was an age ago now it seems!

The lmf and lmf 2 are blades I have not tried but I've always been curious of those, if they are anywhere near as good as the strongarm I can say they are worth every penny
@turtlewolfpack60615 ай бұрын
@@Thekulprit92 I am not going to say that they are as strong in the tang area, I haven't ever had one fail, but the electrical insulation and other added utility make them very appealing when compared to other military issue blades in my Tickle Trunk. @Thekulprit925 ай бұрын
@turtlewolfpack6061 I forgot about the electrical insulation in those knives, that can be a life saver if working around live cables, I've seen blades melted in half, even my Irwin wire cutters have saved me

@@Thekulprit92 my Eickhorn CAN 2005 bayonet is also electrically insulated, I think Eickhorn is the only company that builds that into some of their AR style bayonets. If Gerber were to somehow integrate a wire cutter into the LMF series I would be VERY intrigued.

I've had mine 5 years and it's been through the mill , the knife can take a hammering, my blade is as good as the day l got it , l find it's a bit of a jack if all trades knife but a master of none, l made a couple of mods to mine had to sand down that top guard as it literally was cutting into my thumb when trying to do finer tasks , used to get blisters from the material of the grip when doing prolonged tasks , also found when chopping the impact from the chopping travels through the blade and into my wrist causing me to have to stop , but despite these things the knife never failed and would have a go at any task l threw at it , had some good adventures with this knife it still has a place in my collection
@Thekulprit927 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment, its neat to hear someone's watching. I totally agree about that top guard, it definitely needs modding if one was to use it for any kind of heavy cutting for longer periods of time. For its intended purpose of "tactical use", I find it near perfect

@@Thekulprit92 The definition of "G.O.A.T" means THE one and only, the best of them all. That's what Mille Cuori is! Even J'P'Peltonen M07 is better than the Strongarm.I use the hell out of them and I sharpen knives for living since the 90's. No Bark River, No Fallkniven, no nothing comes close to TRC. By the way I laso have a degree in Chemistry/Metallurgy since 1995,. I respect your opinion on budget knives, I just can't accept Strongarm as something that it was never meant for.
