Schubert - Packaging Machine: Sustainable secondary packaging

It's an amazing machine, but I can't help feel it could have been a quarter the size with ten times fewer parts. It performs the following processes: - forming of boxes - packing of bottles into boxes - hot-gluing and sealing of boxes - forming of cartons - packing of boxes into cartons - hot-gluing and sealing of cartons at around 8 bottles or 1 box per second, which in my opinion isn't that fast. I know that the principle of Schubert machines is thoughtful division of work, conservative over-engineering, and minimising "fudginess" - this way they always deliver a machine that works beyond spec, with less chance of failure. However, I find it more satisfying to see compact and efficient machinery design with a minimal number of parts to still permit good product flow and smooth running.

Ziraya0 I've heard that Schubert has a formalised design philosophy that enforces certain material flow/handling principles to ensure that every process is "positive" to help mitigate opportunities for failure. Of course, this tends to result in their machinery looking ridiculously over-engineered and with a lot of unnecessary steps. Who knows, perhaps they just design their machines to be super-complex so they can justify a higher price? Also, I wonder what "inappropriate multitasking" and "unnecessary hard waits" you are referring to?

@Morgan Travis Hahaha...! I work since year 93, and have been plant operator. Since 2010 as a commissioning and start-up tech, please dont try to convince me from an investor/ceo point of view if youre not one. Stop licking your opressor's feet.... There's no company that will pay and treat their employees better because they make more profit...only if every employee is a shareholder, but we both know that is not usual.

@Morgan Travis Do you have stock/bonds from the company you work for? And do you participate in the directory meetings? Btw, "my" company treats me very well, im an independent contractor that gets paid u$s55-65 per hour plus per-diem, business class tickets and 4 star hotels. Minimum 70 hrs a week, 4 weeks ON 1 week OFF. Sounds like a bad deal to you? This is the way i found to get the more "bang for you buck" and it works perfectly for my purposes...
