The commentator mentions at 7:24 the spirit of the troops in the sixth year of the war. That in fact would make it 1945 since WW2 started 1939.

@@ninjatrader7785 Germany capitulated at May 8th, 1945. Counting from August 1939 on, in December 1944 the 6th year in war was already 6 months on its way.

Well since the war ended in May of 45, I would hope the fires aren't from the winter of 45. Most likely it western front scene were during operation nordwind, the forgotten western front offensive launched after the battle of the bulge.

Some bloke who cannot count. In August 1940 the 2nd year in war started, in August 1941 the 3rd, in August 1942 the 4th, in August 1943 the 5th, and in August 1944 the 6th year in war.
