I'm currently trying to learn German, and I’m facing a huge problem that I can’t seem to figure out. Governments spend billions promoting German and attracting people to learn it, but they haven’t done the simplest and most important thing. What am I looking for? It’s simple: a clear and structured list of exercises and topics I need to know for the B1 level (for example). It should be easy: give me an exact list of vocabulary, an exact list of grammar rules. Create 100 exercises for every rule to practice them thoroughly. Why hasn’t anyone done this? I do grammar exercises, but I’m never certain I’ve covered everything. I study vocabulary, but I’m unsure if I’ve learned enough or if I’m missing key words. Right now, learning German feels like being lost in an endless forest without any structure or clear path. Secondly, it’s obvious that German is extremely difficult for me. Why hasn’t anyone made it easier for beginners to just start speaking? Focus on easy rules until reaching B1. Let people make mistakes! Give us 10 simple rules to get started, so we can begin speaking as soon as possible. This is the most important first step. Grammar mistakes don’t matter-what matters is getting people to start speaking, just like children do when they learn a language. They make mistakes, but they still speak. It feels like the system makes it so difficult to start speaking German that it discourages learners. There should be 10-20 essential rules, nothing more, to get people talking-mistakes and all.

You can search for "german tprs" or "comprehensible input German" videos. They focus on the understanding and usually ignore teaching grammar explicitely. If you're lucky you may find roleplays where they playing a scene like in a restaurant or in the supermarket/on the market.
