I just adopted one. Hes about a year old. I cant believe how smart he is! He learned to unlock doors the first night. He was very timid/scared/aloof the first couple days and a month later, he follows me everywhere and constantly wants attention, to be pet, or to play. He also howls at sirens and just started barking at strangers. Great dog!

Right on the nose with having a big heart and being a protector when need be. I got startled on a run one time and he stood on his two legs and gave a big powerful bark. I never had seen that side of him. Must of sensed my energy. After that I knew if I ever were in danger he would protect me.

I’ve had mine for 13 years now and she is 14-15 years old now and is still doing great. She’s got one blue one brown eye and was always the best guard dog! She’s the perfect mix between the two breeds

Mine barely even looks like a Siberian! I think the only characteristic my doggie has of a Siberian is one blue eye. The rest looks like a full on German Shepherd.

I got mine 4 months ago and he has one blue eye and one brown eye too! He’s protective and gets new commands quickly. He’s great with children and is genuinely the best dog I’ve ever had. And somehow I’m lucky enough that he doesn’t have the mouth of a husky 😂

Adopted a four year old Husky Shepard, all cream with one blue and one brown eye. He is the best dog ever. We have worked with him a lot and he picks up tricks/new skills really fast. Goes in the crate when asked, no whining/barking at night or ever really. He is still getting comfortable I am sure, at first he was a lot more quiet and timid. Now he is full of energy and wants to be near us 24/7!! Definitely adopt one if you are thinking about doing it. Best decision ever.

I got my German Shepard/husky mix from a friend for free. I was looking for a running companion since my shitzu couldn’t keep up. I agree. My girl is very needy and constantly wants attention. I got her as a guard dog since I live alone and so far she has made me sad that not even 4 months old and she already has killed 2 of my chickens and has chewed up most of my water irrigation lines to my garden. Yes I spend time to train and play with her (I’m an outdoorsy person). But so far she hasn’t been able to even keep up to 2 miles up a mountain. Maybe she is still young. But, having to be on alert while I’m at work and wondering if she is going to hurt anymore of my hens. my chickens have there enclosure. I’m not sure how they got out or if she is pressing on the fence. But I love my girl too she is smart and has been the only dog to have a sassy attitude.

DO NOT kennel that dog! Why don't people do some research before they get a dog? These dogs need constant stimulation and exercise. Get him a few of the dog treat puzzles that are available on Amazon and other stores. They are super smart and will solve the puzzles surprisingly fast. If you do have to leave him for extended periods...pay someone to look in on him and walk him.

We adopted a rescue pup 2 weeks ago, and he turned out to be a Gerberian Shepsky! He is about 5mos old right now, and already about 40lbs, so he'll be in the taller (25-26in) and heavier(90-100lbs) end of the anticipated growth spectrum. We named him Loki; he's got one fully blue eye👁️, and the other is half blue💙 on the top and half brown🤎 on the bottom. He definitely recognizes his Husky and Alsatian kin when we're out and about, vocalizing to the Huskies in their particular doggie dialect and just as able to communicate smoothly with Alsatians in theirs. He wants to be everyone's friend--dog, human, and other animals--and picked up on training right away. He's already house-trained, knows and responds to 10 command words, is starting to walk to heel on both sides, and does basic agility courses with me in the mornings on our runs. He ADORES our 4yr old, who adores him back. He's a big floppy cuddly baby who loves to work/learn, and he truly is the perfect family dog. 🐕‍🦺🐾💙

And she's running into the bathroom, jumping into the tub, out and back into the living room while you are on the toilet. I adopted a 6 month old. He is vocal, lovable, outgoing, high energy, playful, intelligent and can be stubborn at times. Overall a great pup. He just needs exercise, attention and being around other dogs. I take him to a dog park at least twice a week.

Mine is Poppet she'70 pounds, mostly black with tan feet and lower legs, with a perfect saddle and beautiful gold checks. One translucent blue eye and one translucent brown eye with a spot of blue. She reads my mind. She comes running to me when I sneeze or cough. If I get a little anxious or cuss she comes to calm me down. I adopted her from a rescue at the age of 1, she's now 5. I almost didn't keep her. Her anxiety was so bad she torn up my home including flooding my bathroom, eating through the bedroom door, shredding 5 large moving boxes, breaking a TV and numerous other things. But we calmed, worked on training. She is easy to train. I love her so much.

Got my guy 2 weeks ago. He is super smart, loving, cuddily. I trained all the basics in one hour. Then did about an hour a day and he is nearly perfectly trained already. I'm so surprised. It helps that he has an excellent temperament and loves treats.

My shepsky is one of the smarter dogs I’ve had and easily became a great house dog fully potty trained to relieve outdoors in two weeks with no accidents in the house. Just be sure to invest in a good bagged vacuum cleaner you’re going to need it and be careful as they are escape arrest and will climb fences.

Mine has a big, deep German Shepard like bark that’s plenty enough to scare anyone, but he’s really a softy. Definitely smart and loyal, but the huskie stubbornness comes out sometimes during his training. He’s a year old now and knows tons of commands, tricks and is good off leash for the most part, but sometimes he obeys commands at his own speed, lol. He’s turning out to make a great hiking companion for me on my trips to the high Sierra.

My Shepsky is my best friend. He has a black and white double coat and features from his Husky side but his silhouette and shape is very much of a German Shepherd’s. A lot of people say he looks like a rare Black and White German shepherd until they ask if he’s a huskey or vice versa. I had a Rottweiler when I was 10 and also a Chow Chow when I got older. Always loved big dogs but never had a German or Siberian even though I always wanted them. Funny, I ended up with a SHEPSKY

I just found one, someone was giving it away on Facebook & I got real lucky to get him for free.. along with a big ass bag of good dog food (Blue Buffalo) & snacks. I love him so much, he’s very sweet.. but these dogs require a lot of affection & I feel they are easy to train as I had one previously but she was only a husky I think mixed with chow chow.. I also feel like he will be a great guard dog for me as I have just moved to Colorado from New York. I am here by myself at home & now I feel much more safe with him by my side. I stay at home a lot because I’m not currently working yet so I have tons of time for him.. he’s also quiet.. & he does that little cute growl as if they’re trying to talk.. but so far he is a GREAT dog and I only got him today !!

I had my bella for 12 wonderful years. She was amazing! I had to put her down on Feb 17, 2022 because she developed bone cancer and on her last day her bone had started to liquify. I have a male and he is only 10 months old and he is biggest baby you ever could meet! He's so sweet and most times gentle but he gets rambunctious and forgets his size already! He's huge and has grown a ton since a pup in 10 months! He is very protective of his dad haha, however he loves attention and getting rubs but he does love to dig!!!! Plus he has a pretty good destructive side all the time but it is compensated with plenty of chew toys and for some reason he loves to huge limbs across the yard jus to eat and chew on them! Overall a great pup and awesome personality!❤

I own a gerbian shepsky, got my 7 month old girl on Wednesday and she's the most amazing dog I've ever had and she instantly took to me, she does resemble her dad the GSD alot more than her mom the SH and she is sooooooooo smart, we've always had small dogs and only once a boerboel and then a few staffordshire bull terriers but Sheba my shepsky is by far the most loyal and clever of them all and doesn't leave my side for a minute she wants to he where I am all the time, she is however on the small side I think at 20 inches and GSDs in my area are huge compared to her but non the less I love her boundlessly

We have a one year old female. She was a complete monster to train, especially potty training. Very stubborn but she catches on to tricks and commands very quick with the shepherd in her. Great loving dog. But watch out for squirrels, rabbits, and birds. She will take off after them

Our Gerberian Shepsky was literally a gift from God! No really she was and here is the story. Our family had a goldador (half golden retriever half yellow lab) for 14 years and he had to be put down because of bad health in his old age. My family consists of my wife and I with 4 boys ages 23, 21, 19, and 17. My 19 year old was sad just like the rest of us when we had to let go of our friend (Brody), and he approached me about getting another dog. At that time my wife and I were not wanting to start all over again with a new puppy. I told my son to pray for a dog and if God gives you a new dog who would I be to deny a gift from God. I then prayed to God, that if he were to give us a dog, please make it free, easy to find, and smart. Now a couple months passed by, and I actually forgot that we were hoping for a new puppy. I was at work one day when my brother in law texted me, wondering if we were looking for a puppy. That he knew of a family that had to move and couldn't take their dog with them. I responded to him with a yes, and then asked him what type of dog is it, and is it free? Yes and yes! Now at this point I had no idea that my 2 of my boys were praying for a german shepard, and 1 of them was praying for an alaskan husky. My oldest son isn't really into dogs or atleast wasn't then, but he had no idea how much this new shepsky was going to change his mind! Obviously the Lord had blessed us with a shepsky or I wouldn't be writing this story on this page. The detailed answering of prayers was nothing short of AMAZING!! My 3 prayers were answered along with the 2 of my boys. 1. I didn't want to take the time to go puppy shopping....check...it came to me. 2. I didn't want to spend money on a puppy.....check... she was free! 3. She is the smartest dog I've ever owned....check 4. 2 sons wanted a german shepard....check 5. 1 son wanted an alaskan husky.....check God is so Good! And God to me is the Lord Jesus Christ! Eph. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God Not of works, lest any man should boast. Jesus Christ is God's gift to the world please except that gift like we excepted Him and our shepsky! Praise the Lord! Make him your savior and he will answer your prayers also!

I am owned by a 14-month-old Gerberian Shepsky named Becky. They are not recommended for households with cats, however, she came into our lives at 10 weeks old. She grew up with them. The other girl of the family, besides Becky and I, is our black calico named Diva. My husband and I are wondering, is Becky Diva's Dog or is Diva Becky's cat. You cannot find one without the other and they are hilarious together. Becky is not for the faint of heart, she is stock full of personality and a huge mind of her own. She listens to you on her terms. Stubborn as the day is long. (I guess that is her Husky father in her). But loveable and loyal to a fault. I love Becky with all of my heart and I just can't imagine being without her around.

We had cats before we got our dogs so they grew up with the cats bring the boss in our house lol. Sometimes they pester the cats, but mostly the cats will put them in their place. Need be
