I love my 5yr old best dog ever. They do need daily exercise and lots of water. They can become dehydrated always leave water out or take with you when out on trail. Smartest dog ive had loves to retrieve all day no quit in this breed. Super affectionate and obedient easy to train super smart. Getting a second one can't get enough of this breed best choice

Years ago it was rare to see or find an all liver pointer. But now days, they seem to be all over. I have one myself.

I think this is the best gsp intro video I have stumbled into so far. Our current dog, a gsp, is almost 13 and still does best with 6 to 10km a day of trail. If you have the time, one of the most rewarding breeds to work with out there.

The ideal owner is a hunter. They are only happy if they can go out hunt. At least the pure original German strain of the breed.

This too pedantic. If course they're hunters and your corect, hunting is their thing. But that life can be replicated in many ways. Mine works 4 to 5 hours a day with me and my activities with my horses in my private yard. I have two other working dogs and the three entertain each other for about 2 of those 5 hours in 7 acres. I've started agility training for him in our horse arena (some of our horses are training for horse agility too). Our miniature Shetland is best pals with my GSP - they play games in the fields and the arena. He's 9 months and happy, fit and quiet indoors. I encourage pointing and stalking crows and pheasant in the pastures etc. Recall to the whistle is instant. He doesn't have bad behaviour indoors and can be left. So, I'm really not sure where l should fit hunting into this. Nor, frankly, why that who kd be required.....
