SOUTH KOREA!!! I was waiting for this to happen for so long! 😭 I believe you're supposed to cut the meat way earlier into nice pieces, not when it's already cooked and got harder.
@iu27 ай бұрын
5:00 Generally, you're supposed to sear the whole meat on the grill, wait a few minutes and then use the scissors to cut it while the meat is still on the grill, and finally cook it a little more to finish it. This guarantees that the meat is cooked evenly.

My daughter, who is 19, was alone in South Korea (Seoul, Busan, Jeju) for 3 weeks in March. She is a K-Pop fan. It was like another world. 😁

Hi from Georgia, USA! I love your content and have watched all of your visits to Asia. Korea seems to have a great vibe-very clean, organized and some great Korean BBQ. I am jealous in a good sort of way. Keep up the good work and enjoy your trip.

You cut the meat before cooking. And you have to put a couple of bits on the BBQ at a time and add more just before you eat. Makes the meal slower and engaging.

It was refreshing to see the clean food and restaurant because when I started to see Phil eat, I got reminded of the brown dishes you ate in India...

All the meat was burned and the scissors were used incorrectly.😂Places that grill their own meat are mainly local restaurants that Koreans go to, while foreigners can enjoy delicious Korean barbecue by going to restaurants where the staff grills the meat themselves

Korean bbq rocks! Where I live tgere are lots of Asian people and Korean bbq is popular to be honest relative to other Asian style restaurants is a bit pricey, but its worth splurging on occasion Great video btw !

Aww, I was hoping to find out you were going to Korea the same time we are next year. It would be awesome to meet for a meal. I know though that you have to be careful who you meet. We are going the end of next april beginning of May for a week on Jeju then a week in Seoul. Our daughter lives in Seoul and we really enjoyed our trip last year.

from what I have seen done for KBBQ, grill the meat a bit on each side, then cut it into small bit size pieces, and let it continue cooking, this will allow the meat to cook quicker Also Koreans have their own version of Wagyu beef, called Hanwoo, and unlike Wagyu it's not as well known, and pretty much unavailable outside of Korea

There's a good Korean BBQ Chain in the Philippines called; Romantic Baboy (Romantic Pig). Love it! It's only about half what yours cost, maybe not as big a selection as there in Seoul, but very good quality food! Yes I am biased, one of my sisters-in-law works for them, but I was very pleasantly surprised how good they are when my wife and I ate there the first time!

There are some 24 hr restaurants and convenience stores in Japan, but few and far between. Philippines, also, you may find a few Jollibee's or McDonald's open 24 hrs, as well as Dunkin and some Mercury Drug Stores. But many shops and restos are closed by 10 at the latest. the malls are open til 10 PM and during Christmas time, till 11 or midnight.

When Ive had Korean BBQ ive always been told to place the meat on sear one side, then flipit to sear the other side... its not cooked at this point, but its now that you ise the scissors to cut ot to bite size pieces/strips right there on teh grill... then you give the smaller pieces another few mins to finish and you are good to go!!

That is very smart to charge extra for wasted food at buffets. People hoard all of the good food and then I see it left wasted on the table in Vegas.

Did you notice how close Seoul and especially its main Incheon airport are to North Korea? The airport lies closer to the border (~30 km) than to downtown Seoul (~50 km). It certainly gave me pause when I visited in 2012.

Not many people know about Korea or Korean culture, cuisine. Obviously, K-pop and Korean movies( dramas) are becoming popular, and Korean foods are generally much healthier, variety, and better than European or/and Western food.

Hi GEANNA, at your Korean barbecue, you were cooking the garlic, but I think you’re supposed to eat it raw not cook it. When I was a kid growing up here in Toronto Ontario Canada I had a Korean friend and I went over to her house And her whole house smelled like garlic. I think that’s because they eat it raw. I’m not making a derogatory comment just my memories from my child with my friend. I was watching a Mikey Chen video and he was eating raw garlic with his meal in Korea. He was just popping the raw garlic in his mouth and chewing it. I don’t think I could do that. I really love garlic, but I think I’d rather have it cooked.
