You might try an auto supply like NAPA. They can mix speciality custom colors and sheen additives or clear top coat. You can order as little as 1/2 a pint. Then they can set you up with an aerosol (rattle can type) delivery system.it’s surprisingly affordable. Something to keep in mind for future projects. And thanks for doing these projects. They are informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work, they are much appreciated.

Use a soft hammer to avoid stretching things - like a deadblow. Make sure the hammers are crowned and use a leather dolly will help avoid marks.... Usually the round faced hammers are crowned - it helps if you mount the anvils in a vice and work on that - you can also use the end of a log. Overall, tho you did a good job - main thing is not to stretch the metal any more, usually by using a soft material to hammer. BTW - 280 or 400 grit is what is usually used by body shops before painting - 600 is too fine. Also, there is a place in California that will mix custom spray paints.

When you are using a hammer and dolly if the dent is facing up you put the dolly underneath and hammer it flat. If its under the surface you have to put your dolly underneath and hold pressure up while hammering around the perimeter of the dent. As you hammer the outside edges you're forcing the dolly to push the dent up.

GearWrench 82302. Got it from amazon couple of months back for 89.99. Looks like the price went up $5. It is a good set for home user. Not sure it it would hold up for everyday use. amzn.to/2siyx3a

Jusb1066 my only concern is bugs sticking to it, or the dog....
@jusb10667 жыл бұрын
several reasons: not just bugs, but the sun will cause dry spray edges on larger jobs, it will dry too quick meaning less flat paint, you need to spray thinner lighter coats when you do the real deal, and no wind indoors will be needed.

Yeah I don't have a booth so it's about the only option I have. I wait for a sunny low wind day.
