As far as I can say, Turkey's national team was not experienced those times but they had a different soul of competitive, which we do not see in any team in general these times, and that is way for many people around the globe this is the best tournament ever perhaps. Especially in Croatia-Turkey match, no one would believe that there would be a goal after Ivan's goal in 119th minute, but Semih's goal in 121st minute, probably a last second goal.

Legendary game. Perhaps the best Turkish team ever we had to compete against, but we had Schweinsteiger, Klose, Lahm, Ballack - actually, I think this was Lehmann's weakest performance as German goalie, actually. And after the 1:1, our cable connection broke down - so my father and I had to listen to the next minutes over RADIO and it had serious 1954 vibes ("Toooor, Toooor, Tooooor!"). Then, 2:2 and Lahm's finest minute in the German dress as he managed to deliver the killing blow. WHAT a time to remember!

Initially 9 players were missing but some of the subs were barely able to get in shape for the match. Had they survived Germany they'd have a better squad for the final. But that was a hell of match.

Turkey lost this match because they scored their second goal early in 85’. Previously they were beating their opponents in last seconds, with shocking and paralyzing comebacks, Switzerland in 90+2’ with Arda Turan, Czechia in 87’ and 89’ with Nihat Kahveci, and Croatia in 120+2’ with Semih Şentürk’s goals (after penalty shootouts) without giving the opponent a second chance. Sabri at RB for Turkey literally sets up 2 shots that are cannoned off the post or bar in the first 15 minutes, then later on assists Semi's equalizer. This turkish team were so full throttle. After the portugal game where they lost 2-0, Fati Terim changed a lot about the team's set up. They were so direct.

Turkey's tactic in this match was very solid and well prepared but they lacked good finishers. Not to mention defensive errors which led the first and last goals. Second was Klose's individual brilliance

Yeah that's right but in turkish we say: an inofficial rule in football "if you don't score, the other team will score" This means that if you dont use so many chances then the other team will come and score a goal. Thrilling semi final tho

its very sad to see this as a german. "deutschlaaand deutschlaaand, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh". all these fans and decoration. this nation is not a football nation anymore. i have literal tears in my eyes. those are real heavy emotional memories. when i look at the german team and its followers now its heartbreaking. we were such a great football nation. i am crying also the atmosphere and everything. the music induces heavy nostalgia from the 2000's. great memories

@@WONGLER lol Schwachsinn. Es ist einfach ein komplett normale Entwicklung irgendwann ein bisschen satt von der Mannschaft zu sein, vor allem wenn der Peak so hoch war. Dazu kommt das unangenehme Marketing rundum „die Mannschaft“ und die generelle Fehlentwicklung im Weltfußball und schon ist die Luft raus. Das wird spätestens bei der Heim-EM wieder anders sein

I didn't find any reliable sources for comparing Podolski and Altintop, but if you compare the Fifa 2008 stats of the two players, Altintop has a slightly higher rating of 88 than Podolski with 87. But Hitzlsperger had the highest rating of the 3 players with 94... Well, as I said... whether one can really judge whether this is a good comparison or not? xD

this was probably the only game where Germany was so vurnarable against Turkish national team. and sadly almost half of the Turkish team was wheter injured or booked due to yellow cards previous games. surely heartbroken game. but it was the best tournament so far IMO.

Then after the game, journalists said that it was Klose's goal that we couldn't see.

Turkey's team wasn't the best team in the tournament, in fact our team was quite average you can say, nothing compared to the world cup team, but what made me so proud is that this team played with passion and fight and that's what got us this far, I mean look at this game, almost our entire team was out injured or suspended, we only had like 5 subs on the bench, and we completely outplayed the Germans, the full time stats were insane a depleted Turkey had 15 shots with 9 on target against a full German team that's insane!

That's how the 'powerful turkish' treat a friend of turks and fan of Turkey? Smearing his name? Maybe he has learned such behaviour from his turkish adviser and close friend. Or from his beloved Ozil? Or from his time in Turkey back in the 90s when he won the turkish championship as a coach and brought German football knowhow to Turkey... Who knows. But what I know is that there are no other Germans doing such things and that the Germans hated on him for it and wanted him out of the national team after that incident.
