I remember this euro. As a german I think the cracks of the downfall were already showing here to be honest. Yes we got into the semi-final but look who we played against. We struggled with chance creation against small teams like ukraine for example and when we created chances we couldn't finish them. No goals against poland and just 1 against northern ireland. It is no suprise that germany was out against france who were pretty much the first good team that we faced (italy was meh). The difference between 2016 and later years is only that the defence was a lot more better. Except the euros 2024 we had the same problems as back then. No good chance creatiion and bad finishing, no real striker and no worldclass fullbacks.
