I am perplexed of the high amount of taxes that are due in Germany. At some point we are working 5-6 months a year just to pay taxes. On top of that they are not proportional, the more you learn and you work to earn more, the higher the tax bracket you have to pay, it is completely unfair and removes any motivation to improve your work situation. Is there any Political Party supporting a reduction on this unfair income tax?

.... What??? You can't read or you're stupid it is proportional it grows with your higher income but you only start paying higher taxes at a certain point just like in America

Couldn’t have said it better. I simply can’t wrap my mind around how people are okay with this. I get the “free” healthcare and “free” universities, etc… but surely there’s a better system to attain these things while not having to give away half of your income to the government. Also, wants the point of trying to move up the ladder and better your life if you’re basically capped at making 60k a year? Unless you’re in some super specialized IT field, jobs offering 60k + are hard to come by. So why even bother?

Hi Axel, For an investment property, is the “kauf nebenkosten” (like the 10~13% of the house price) tax deductible?

If you buy an investment property, you can deduct the closing costs (notary, ground purchsing taxes, real estate agent) from your taxes. If you buy a home for yourself to live in, you cannot deduct the closing costs from your taxes.
