I was there in 2023. It is in H0 scale 1:87. The standard track width is 16.5 mm instead of 1435 mm. The trains are controlled by signals and a complex computer system. Some of the car and truck models drive themselves and are autonomous robots that follow a magnetic track. When the battery runs low, they drive to the charging station. Houses, street lamps and traffic lights are illuminated. Countless figures represent everyday scenes. From the corpse in the river to the "fun behind the bushes".

But the Virtual 3D Show isn't worth it. Rather look at the real miniatures on several floors. There is also a restaurant there.

500 hours to get it done? nah try 500.000 hours but this was like 11 years ago. This isn't some hobby from some dude it's a business with a few dozens of employees working there full-time building all that stuff and supervising it. also, the world they created isn't all connected like it would be in real life, it's different "themes" throughout the many rooms but not a reconstruction of the entire world or anything like that

The Miniatur Wunderland startet as hobby-project and become more and more professional. Ive never been there, but i will. You can find thousands of "easter eggs" all over the area and it is growing daily. It is so amazing. And you will need about 3-4 days to see "all" of it. And every time you get there you find new not seen spots...
@andreasmann26028 ай бұрын
Wrong, it was never planned as a hobby project. It took a long time for the Braun brothers to find a banker who gave them the first millions for the project. But their vision was confirmed. I live in Germany and have been following the project from day one. In the next few weeks, they are even releasing a movie (documentary) about their lives and MIWULA!

@@andreasmann2602 And they almost went bankrupt after the first years. Then social media came to help and they really pushed it. Like the Elbtunnel train challenge etc. Viral marketing that could only work in the 2000s decade.

Haha, great that you just watched this 'ancient' video, while James Bray recently visited Hamburg and the MiWuLa. Just a day or two ago he released his long awaited reaction to the current MiWuLa, and to say he was blown away might be the understatement of the year. It took him almost four weeks to edit down all of his videos he recorded there to a 'mere' 45 minutes. 😂 So if you want a current look, check out his video. BTW: he's an awesome guy with a truly infectuous laugh.

A few days ago they've opened the Formula 1 Race Track in Monaco, where F1 cars are racing the laps each time with random chance in a different race. They are now working at providing a stream of the races in the Internet so that you can follow each race along in the future, since they've also developed a camera-filming system along with it, that covers each race like TV. If you are curious right now, watch their "Monaco Highlights" video, it shows what they can do right now.

If you ever visit the Miniatur Wunderland look very close. There are quite a few very funny scenes build in. Like a couple having a "meeting" in a field. Or police investing a murder scene. Or that convertible with open roof, just behind a truck that has loaded a construction site toilet, approaching a low tunnel. Just imagine what happens next... 😆

Next in April 2024 they will open Monaco with a "real" Formula 1 track after 10 years of development. Up to 20 individual programmend F1 cars will race there against each other, with sound, Pit stops and video-reporting. Greetings from Germany

Just take some days to get to know Hamburg including Reeperbahn, Landungsbrücken, Musicals like Lion King and of course the Miniatur Wunderland.

You picked out an old video 😏 Wonderland has been around for 22 years. The one you chose was produced for the 10th anniversary and the current one is the one that was shot for the 20th anniversary. Well, almost everything there was developed by the MiWuLa team itself and designed for continuous operation and low maintenance. Since there is nothing comparable, the development time and costs are self-explanatory. Everyone who works there is just one step away from madness - in the most positive sense! 👍🏼 Not only are they driving H0-scale cars there, completely simulating airport operations, but they are also in the process of completing Monaco with the Formula 1 race track in which racing cars move that are so delicate that no engine fits in the vehicles! Every race there should be unique! I recommend the videos on their homepage but be careful - the videos and pictures will entice you to travel to Hamburg and visit the MiniaturWonderland! 😅
