Just a point of clarification because there’s some incorrect info in this content: The increased tracking is always active on this exotic. All “strengthened heavy knife” does is increase the damage so the knife will kill on a body shot.

As someone who mains this exotic, this was such a fun video to watch! Thanks for making such awesome trials videos, this is the best one you’ve done with this exotic by far! As a little idea/tip, I’ve found that bouncing the knife ceiling and then wall (when there is a ceiling) works much better than “floor to wall” - especially against titan barricades or when they’re behind cover! :)

The Adhortative craftable pulse with Heal Clip and Golden Tricorn could be insane with this build. Get the first kill to proc the knife, reload to heal then peak with the knife throw.

Before the major sandbox PvP update, you could use a Swashbuckler bow to 1-tap after the Athrys Knife. Monte Carlo to proc the Embrace. Kill with knife to become radiant and Swash 5. Kill chain with 1-taps and Ember of Emperyean to keep it going. Fun in sixes, but then you're the guy using a bow...

U can set this build up for easy ignites as well. With the right fragments. Just chuck an incendiary and as long as theyre burning u can trip ignite with the knife

I love this build! It's my main thing for the majority of pvp content A few interesting things to note (that may have been noted by others here already) is that having the exotic on always gives you the super tracking on the second bounce! The weighted knife is just for the bonus damage, so it can be worth it to just double bounce it around a corner to secure a kill against someone thats peek shooting you :) Second thing to note is that you were actually very correct in not building into strength, as having weighted knife active without your melee charge gives you a massive strength buff! I think it may even set it to 10 Also, this one's really niche to jav-4, but there's actually a super consistent floor-wall bounce on outside point to hit those people that you tried to ceiling-wall that one time! Throw it past that panel cover to their left so it bounces off of the wall to the left of the doorway behind them

When the Strengthened Knife is active you also gain +50 strengh. so only tier 4 or 5 strength is needed

@@kenpachi2607 that’s not counterplay, that’s just hoping the tracking doesn’t catch you. There’s nothing you can personally do to stop it if it does. Also there is not a lot of setup. The setup is hit 4-5 headshots with an auto and then lob a knife.

I use this build a lot in pvp and it works great with the fragment that causes your ignitions to be bigger paired with the incendiary grenade since the weighted knife can cause scorched enemies to ignite. I’ve managed quite a few multi kills with that set up bouncing the grenade off of a wall around a corner then following up with a non strengthened knife off the floor to wall or ceiling to wall. Fast ball definitely helps with that grenade as well. I usually pair it with Monte and beloved but have also used conditional and the bxr pulse with it. Both set ups are loads of fun with this build.

Resilience in the Crucible increases how many points of shield health you have, so small changes in damage (like Surges, damage over time, exotic perks and the like) influence your opponents optimal TTK. Generally, having higher Resilience means your opponent will have to be more accurate because of this, but people argue about what the most desirable number is because people have different priorities and face different weapons.
