To be honest, from the technical point of view it´s absolutly champions leguea. But it´s to much when you counted it from the speed. Bachata lives from the sensual relationship between the dancers, and I think they don´t showed it very well in this perfomance. When you see Migle and Gero in their "La Carretera" Dance, you´ll know what I mean. But this is only my point of view...

It depends on the song. There's no rule for how much the split should be between sensual and not. If you listen to this song (mientele) in particular, it's fast and the instruments hit hard, not softly, so it would just look bad to take this the sensual route. Close your eyes and picture doing sensual moves whilst listening to this song - it doesn't really work. When you listen to La Carretera, it is much slower and softer, so the sensual moved matched the music. Hope that was helpful!
