I’ve had this song on repeat and stuck in my head for four months now…I can’t explain it other than to say its composition is perfect, the sentiment universal (could be singing about any church, any addiction, any struggle, any revelation…) and the melancholy tone is oddly uplifting and liberating. Open D. You can kinda follow his chords on this video but essentially is the open strumming, then the first two top strings holding the second fret, and then same in the 5th fret. Open D chords are nice and easy like that :)
