Merci encore...

What an occasion and what a wonderful selection of pieces, especially Widor's Allegro. I was at the second Hanley concert and encouraged Gert before the concert to announce his engagement to Marjolein. The announcement was greeted with rapturous applause.

Wonderful concert. Every variation of "Hope" you have offered over the years somehow feels precisely fit to the day it is presented. Thank you for playing all of these pieces.

Wish I could have been there for this dynamic concert. We all need "Hope" (opening piece) and your music instills that. Thank you for Part 2 of the concert. I was hoping this would be posted soon. I bet the organ masters Conacher-Willis are smiling that you are playing this amazing organ.

Yours is one of my favorite interpretations of the Widor VI!!! I also really like the way Widor sounds on English instruments for some reason... the first ever recording of Widor V (full symphony) I heard was Jane Parker-Smith on the Willis at Salisbury Cathedral.

Such a wonderful concert, yet the place seems half empty. I think your concerts like this should be televised. It would be nice if you could get the BBC to promote your concerts live on t.v.

Gert/Marjoline should apply to BBC Proms, Albert Hall, London. The organ there is massive - 6 - 7000 pipes ! I am sure they would get well received! I saw on Utube St Sean’s organ symphony with a full orchestra ! Fantastic sound !

Thks for the wonderful programme. The Widor was wonderful. Like the way your whole body moves when you play. Hope is beautiful, a favourite of yours. Who composed/wrote it? Are you playing in a small town?
@TerryP19222 жыл бұрын
Kevin, if I may answer your question, I believe "Hope" was composed by Yiruma, a famous South Korean pianist.

Interesting. No use of expression pedals. I suppose that is because he is used tot he Dutch organbs. Such a shame that there was such a high wind blowing through the building causing Gert to weave and sway like a tree in a storm. Gert as come a long way from that youngster who won his first competition so many years ago.
