Top Rank, DAZN, Showtime, etc run boxing. We need to change that and everyone needs to go independent. It's just like record deals. For a record deal you can be independent and get a distribution deal. For Boxing you should get a broadcast deal with showtime/espn/dazn, etc. but everything else is run through the independent fighters & their teams.

You're right, but a lot of these fighters aren't that smart or business savvy to make it happen. Fighters are trained to fight, not think, which is why there's only been a handful of fighters throughout history that have truly become their own bosses. And these promoters know that, which is why they usually lock these fighters into long term contracts.

Haney is not Mayweather.. Nor is he brave. When people doubted the Mayweather vs Marquez fight, he said fuck it ill run it back and then won the second fight without anyone doubting it. Haney knows the fight with loma was difficult and he himself knew he barely edged it, it's risky to rematch him because he knows there's a chance the fight goes the same way or gets worse for him now that loma knows all his tactics.
