He fought good against tank. But tank is above high elite fighters. He finds that small opening and hit it like a jackpot. Aside from his knockout power, he can take a punch and has a very good defense. That is pure talent combined with hardwork and genius mentoring coming from Mayweather and his camp.

Tank was really setting that left counter. Took his time and let Rolly win the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Tank started to feel it in the 4th round, took over in the 5th, and knocked Rolly down in the 6th round with that left counter that he's been setting up since the 2nd round. That was some nice strategy and win.

I wasn't able to tell that that finish was coming or was to be expected, and for me that's what's so amazing ... I have to believe that Tank has some extra intelligence, because he knew ... In favour of Rolly, I'd say he was giving Tank a better matchup than KingRy did, so a matchup btwn the two does make sense ... @@verysimlpesimon Tank fought a very tactical fight. He knew Rolly had power. He's the champion because Rolly didn't respect his. Tank waited and boxed with his feet, his defense and when the moment presented itself, he did what he does. One thing that was unmistakable in this fight is, Tank's chin is as srong as his punches. Rolly can say he made a mistake and walked into a punch. You can't walk into what you don't see. He tried to bully Tank. Him being physically stronger was a plus. The root cause of his traumatic loss was, Tank is just a more complete boxer. BTW Tank got that brick in both hands too. Rolly gotta respect. He said he'd KO Tank in one. Obviously that was too big of a challenge. Walk softly and carry a big stick. He came in guns blazing, and got ambushed. Everything he was doing right, all went left with that Tank left.

As a davis fan I will go on recrord and say rolly had the right strategy... Out of all of gervontas opponents. The reason why rolly got knockout was because he was rushing in. Instead of continuing to fight the way he was in every round before that one. He rushed in looking for a knockout in round 6 and in return he got knocked out. Im a davis fan but this fight also made me really like rolly. Why Im saying rolly had the right strategy: 1) He kept his distance and didnt slug it out with davis. 2) He danced away from davis punches instead of just blocking them. 7:09 and 6:48 were just two beautiful examples of dancing away from Davis punches. Davis could barely get to him. Rolly was elusive. 3) He was patient and not aggressive... Until he started getting reckless at the end of round 5. 4) Rolly mainly relied on the straight jab instead of combinations. I have to admit Rollys trainer really trained him well for this fight... He just needed to take his mind off of trying to knock out davis. Round 5 is when rolly started looking for a knock out. Round 5 is when rolly started neglecting all 4 of those things above that I listed. By the end of round 5 his trainer shoudve told him to: "Stop and calm down! Dont get stupid! You're doing everything right. Don't look for a knockout punch, just continue doing what you've been doing." During the interview after garcia lost, garcia said on the mic "I wasnt patient enough. I started getting bored and tried to rush things. I shouldve continued to keep my distance and focus on the jab." After garcia said that I had to rewatch this fight with rolly and now I understand...?

When I think about I agree with what you said. Rolly did better than garcia. A fighter that can beat Davis is a guy that is calm and ok with winning by points. @volugebrands8659
@volugebrands8659 11 ай бұрын
@@wordpresslife7551 A fight that Davis will lose is a fight that many fans will call boring. Because a fighter that has a chance at beating Davis is fighter that is ok with just doing enough to win rounds. If Davis hits him 4 times his opponents ONLY goal should be to hit Davis back 4 times and that's it. The fans won't like it but that's the only way to beat davis.

I agree as well... Rolly did better than most of gervonta opponents even garcia. I saw how rolly danced away from Davis punches as well and how calm he was while keeping the jab and maintaining distance. Looking back at the fight, it really shows how patient tank is and how he kept looking for that lunge from rolly. Somewhere in the second round when things start getting a bit more active, rolly goes in with crazy lunge trynna hit the body. Rolly lowkey paused for just a split second because his chin was completely exposed, tank didnt bite on it, but immediately saw he made the read and you can see him trying to set it up in the exchanges after that. Rolly kept him at bay for the first few rounds because not only did rolly take a couple powershots, but actually returned with his own shots that he knew werent something he could just willingly take all day. Tanks a beast no lie not only cause of the set up, but even when he got pressured tank decided to keep trying the set up until rolly got overly confident.

The body shot from Tank at 23:32 made Rolly tighten his guard. Tank used this later. He picked him apart in round 5. Round 6 was the setup.
