@@darknodes My guess is you're buying shared resources, like shared vCPUS from Contabo or Hetzner instead of true dedicated resources. And you're at the mercy of oversold servers that don't even come close to advertised performance because you're sharing resources (kinda beating the whole point of getting a VPS in the first place). But hey, bigger number = bigger good, seemed to work as a marketing point :)

Just keep a back up and be ready, they didn't tell me a thing before shutting down the vps and I don't have any way to ask why. I followed your video but when I go to create the Ubuntu/Ampere instance with 4 vCPUs and 24GB of ram I get this error I can't go past: Out of capacity for shape VM.Standard.A1.Flex in availability domain AD-1 I chatted with Oracle support who told me that "I would like to inform that the shape VM.Standard.A1.Flex is currently unavailable for a limited time. This shape would soon be back and available for you to use. Unfortunately there is no ETA". I read that ou can run a Oracle Cloud CLI script using OCID and Tenant ID through the browser logged in session but I find hard to follow some of the commands. I don't think I will be able to create this instance. Any ideas? Thank you. Alfred

Have you tried giving it some time to get past the 97%? Never ran into that issue but since you're installing using a vps the problem is probably with cloud panel itself. You can try CyberPanel

I made sure to not make the websites perfect. Like the images are not optimized, the theme isnt all that efficient as well to simulate "real world" website conditions. But they still get little traffic so best metric to judge them by for now is TTFB. As more viewers come and visit, Ill have a better scenario for real world tests. But yeah, Oracle is pretty insane for a free provider

Well its not like shared hosting where you share resources and can experience limitarions. Here you have a virtual machine running with dedicated resources. So unless Oracle specifically does something to the free virtual machines there shouldnt be any limitations beyond the resource ones

It works like normal hosting, there are no limitations. BUT you dont get email hosting included and you never know when Oracle decides to shut it down or something along those lines. So, I recommend having backups just incase.

I actually have both setup for public testing if you want. Just visit uptime.emitreviews.com you'll be able to see the uptime and the domains for both hosting providers (near the name there's a little "?") Or just click on the plan for detailed info. They both have the exact same website hosted, so you can run some tests or just browse around if you'd like. Personally, Id never pick Namecheap. I just dont like it that much :D
